For out and about I really like Manzella soft-shell windproof offerings. I've had a couple, the last bunch I bought were "Forester ST". FWIW, Sportsman's Loft had a ton of these on closeout about a month ago for ~$12/ea.
Well this sucks!! I worked with T.V. @ Grand Forks Scheels back in the late 90's. I always liked him and he was always happy and helpful.
Prayers and condolences to the family.
MSA probably gave the best advice, take a ton of pics. Fiddle with the settings and see what works for you as you can look @ the pic info in you're editing software later and spot trends of settings you like.
The other advice I'd offer, get a camera that you'll actually USE!! If you're not...
If you're active @ those temps, Gortex or windstopper and Primaloft. Plan on replacing every couple years as the Primoloft loses it's loft. If you're inactive, mittens/glommets AND chem handwarmers.
I set up cameras to run in Aperture Priority "AV" should be a setting on a dial or in a menu somewhere. Then in the menu I like, ISO Auto, the default smallest/lowest F-stop available at any given zoom (this will clear up your target and blur most of the rest) Continuous Auto Focus, Auto White...
I've owned a dozen of them from 223 up through 300Win. They were all very accurate and dependable. As has been stated above, the only knock anyone could have against them is weight.

Why not just use a sharpie to blacken the case? Same goes for physical inspection of land engagement, sharpies seem more convenient than candles and smoke.
Given that A-max's shoot pretty well wether jumped or jammed, you might give the new Hornady ELD a try. The little bit that they published about it this week would lead one to believe that it's a "hunting A-max".
Board, strap, handyman jack. Or, in cases of true pissedoffedness I've witnessed the squeeze chute, chain, tractor method. Seems that nighttime is the right time for both of these methods.
I'd love to see this pass. I would however be concerned that .Gov would then attempt to make them mandatory at all times and in all places. For all of their advantages, they still make their host firearm unwieldy/unbalanced when unsupported. That is of course assuming one is adding said can...
I wonder how many of the ones we've got are transplants. They come here for college, wrangle themselves a "country boy" and figuratively neuter him with the threat of having to move to WI, CA, or Iran.
