    Cork Handle ???

    I have an older G Loomis spinning rod. It is kind of my go-to rod. Anyway the cork part of the handle that is ahead of the real is very dry and with some cracks. Is there anything I can rub on the cork to help soften/preserve it??? Or does anyone rebuild/replace it???

    Frying Oil ???

    I know frying fish in oil is bad. But I like it. So what is everyone's preferred oil? AT the present time I have Peanut oil on hand and yes it is more expensive. In the past we have bought the large containers at Cabelas or Sams. I have no idea what kind it is. Anyone have strong prefernces???
