I suspect many of us have gifted a fish or two at the dock when our catch proved disappointing enough without ever doing the gifting paperwork. Nonetheless, by the letter of the law if I were to go to Devils Lake on a two-day guided trip, I can still only bring home 10 walleyes. It doesn't...

There are rules to gifting, even if I am not sure anyone actually follows them. From the proclamation: Any fish (whole and/or fillets) may be given (gifted) to another individual, but the fish must be counted in the donor’s daily limit. Individuals who receive gifted fish may not exceed the...

    ND PSC Denies Summit pipeline

Just to be clear, probably 100,000,000 Americans are currently sitting with a natural gas or propane line in their yard. I am one of them.

We fest 2023 223 go big or go

I always thought that was the attraction to the place back in the early days of We Fest. There were a lot of friends of mine who grew increasingly dissatisfied with it as more and more rules and rigidity came with each passing year.

We fest 2023 223 go big or go

While that's true, it is also true that if the LEO saw a person at distance with a rifle sneaking into position, a silenced round would create a lot less panic than one or two unsuppressed rounds.

    3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel

https://autos.yahoo.com/tuner-sinister-diesel-fined-1-210000790.html Interesting article on Sinister getting fined a cool million bucks for selling tuners and delete hardware/software. I'd have to think that eventually the EPA will get down to individual owners of trucks.

    ND PSC Denies Summit pipeline

Not always so straight forward when it comes to who stands to profit/benefit from a given project. The state of North Dakota earns a pretty sizable sum in royalties and taxes from oil production. It would be perfectly reasonable for the State to want to see a project like this move forward...

    ND PSC Denies Summit pipeline

On some of the other political and logistical issues raised, I don't consider the technical ones (pipeline routes, etc) as unsolvable. There are new pipelines laid in this country every single day, I'd bet the number of them that end up using their originally advertised routes is near zero...

    ND PSC Denies Summit pipeline

I think it's fair to say that whoever unlocks the key to successful EOR in the Bakken will find themselves filthy rich. https://onepetro.org/SPEURCC/proceedings-abstract/20URCC/4-20URCC/D043S008R004/448581 I don't have an account with the above to be able to see the full article, but the last...

I am pretty sure Denbury has been using CO2 along the Cedar Creek Anticline, SW of Marmarth, for a few years now. Granted, I don't know what geologic intervals are being produced in that area, so it may be different(????). Anyway, when it comes to oil, they will find a way. As far as...

I doubt it, there's something about the CO2 that helps move the little hydrocarbons along. It's a long-tested system in what's called Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). I am sure there's some organic chemistry in there to help explain it all. I just hate organic chemistry.

NIMBY at its finest. As the Bakken ages in the coming years, the oilfield will pay good money for CO2 to inject in older wells to help surrounding wells production.

    3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel

My 6.4 doesn't have DEF and remains stock at almost 160k miles, but there are a couple of observations I have made over the years. Mileage when looking at long road trips, including a regen cycle is right around 16 mpg. A number of times I've reset the fuel economy calculator upon entering a...

Keep your cool at the ramp

    3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel

Absolutely true. I live 8 miles from work and hate, hate, hate using my truck as a daily driver in the winter. Summer, not so bad...but winter means I barely get good cabin heat before I get to work even if I start it 5-20 minutes in advance. I can't count the number of times I was on my way...

    8/1/23 Storm Damage

Just curious if anyone would care to share examples (pics would be great) of storm damage from last night's line of thunderstorms. Anything like wind speed estimates, hail size, rain totals, and of course location (e.g. roughly 4.5 miles east southeast of xxx town), and lastly what time the...
