    Breaking in a new gun

What did you get? You definitely want to clean it before you shoot it at all. After that, opinions vary widely. IMO: Off-the-shelf factory guns should probably be cleaned a bit more often during the first 50 rounds or so. The manufacturer probably has recommendations. Premium / custom...

    what a good range finder

You'll like the Sig. I had the initial Kilo 2000 and it sucked, at least compared to the advertised specs. I sent it in and they sent me a 2200. It's the real deal. One semi off-topic question I have is: does anyone know of a LRF that allows you to change the reticle color? Compared to the...

    .22 mag pistol??

Never seen it, but that Kel-Tec with the 30rnd mag looks bad-ass. Would be even cooler with an extended and threaded barrel.

    RadRover Electric Bike Reviews?

If it wasn't disingenuous, then why did you delete your post like an hour after I called you out? I wish I had the text saved somewhere, but you posted like you were just 'one of the guys' giving an unbiased review, but if you have any affiliation with RadRover, then it's not unbiased, and if...

    Reloading for first timer

Looks like a lot of people like the RCBS presses. I prefer the Hornady ones for the lock-n-load feature myself. Very fast and easy to switch between dies without resetting them all the time. Also, IMO, the RCBS Charge Master is a requirement. It makes the most tedious part (powder...

    Reloading for first timer

This is good advice, but works best if you fire them at 300+ yards. Otherwise, it may be hard to get enough separation to tell. That's another place where the chronograph comes into play. It's the same idea, but instead of looking for bullets that group together vertically, you're looking for...

    RadRover Electric Bike Reviews?

Hmm... Brand new member digs up old thread and lays out something that sounds just a little too much like an advertisement. I wasn't that interested before, but disingenuous marketing really turns me off. ... And now (like an hour later), the previous post from newbie "Cyclic" has been...

    Garage Finishing Ideas

Painted OSB can look quite good. Just fill in the larger gaps with a putty of your choice (I forget what I used...), roll on a good primer, and a few coats of a semi-gloss and it will be very durable.

    Problems with inconsistency

Calling out SDMF. Bold move... Despite his love for 270 Win, he seems to know his shit. As a bonus, unlike some, he usually posts in coherent English sentences.

DIY Duracoat - It can be done

Scopes are tough for stencils due to the conical shapes, and it can be tough to determine which parts to paint and which to leave. I recently did one to match my AR-10. It's not perfect, but it works.

    Barrett Fieldcraft Rifles

I have a 6.0 and a 6.5. I may have gone "Full Creedmoor"... Does a Desert Tech SRS and Leupold glass even that out?

Didn't you shoot better than that with your "cheap" Rem 308 and cheap commie ammo?

    Just gonna leave this here

Liberal minds have become increasingly damaged over the years, especially in Hollywood. Sadly, I think that if "Silence of the Lambs" was released today, it would feature Buffalo Bill as the "hero" for overcoming the oppression of being denied a sex change by fashioning himself a lady-skin-suit.

    Opti Overhaul

Cool project. Hope you get it handled before the ice comes off. Reminds me of replacing head gaskets and valve work on my 1980 Caprice Classic back in the day. I was careful to label everything as I tore it out, but still ended up with a wire and a bolt or two that didn't seem to go anywhere...

DIY Duracoat - It can be done

The regular Duracoat is air dry. It dries crazy fast, at least if you're putting it on in light coats with an airbrush. -- Like you can touch it a minute or two later. I let mine sit for a few days before reassembling. They say it takes 30 days to "fully cure", but I've certainly shot mine...

DIY Duracoat - It can be done

You can get it directly from www.duracoat-finishes.com, but I usually get it from either Brownells or Midway because the shipping is cheaper, although they don't have all the colors. I don't have any more paint projects planned right now, but mixing is pretty simple. It comes with hardener in a...

DIY Duracoat - It can be done

Had my boat prop off to put a new hub in it. Decided to paint it. Note: The Duracoat "stainless steel" color will not make an aluminum prop look like a stainless one. It's pretty much just silver. It does look a bit better though: - - - Updated - - - I also painted my Desert Tech and a...

    Cancel your Scheels Card

You're right. The NRA does "sell fear" to motivate their constituents and push their agenda. So does every anti-gunner. At the end of the day, they're the only major organization out there working to protect the 2nd Amendment. I'm a life member.
