All New Mercury 4-Strokes - Just released

When it starts whizzing like an old man. Some that run in sandy river water change it every other year. Mines 12 years old and I just did it for the first time. Now it's got a strong stream again.

    Suppressor Choices for Hunting?

I dunno. My 30 cal can on my 22-250 doesn't seem much different than my 22 cal can on my 223. If you only have one, you want it to be a 30 cal. I have the Varminter 2.0, my brother has the 3.0, and I'm thinking pretty hard about getting a 4.0. They're good cans at a decent price.

    Problems with inconsistency

Ha ha. You know both the 270 Win and the 25-06 could be replaced with a "26-06". -- Yes I know it's the "6.5mm-06", but considering the parent case is 30-06, that naming convention offends my OCD.

    Problems with inconsistency

I was gonna let this go until you called the Creedmoor a "turd lobber". That hurt my feelers, so now I need to point out that your statements are fairly broad generalizations. :D If you look at load data and ballistic charts, when you compare similar bullet weights and same barrel lengths, the...

    Range finding bow site

Not legal in SD either. Not sure on MN offhand, but I doubt it. Probably only those heathen high-fence Texans could use it, but what's the point? It's only 20yds to the feeder.

    Recessed lights sweating/condensation????

Condensation occurs when something is extra cold in an otherwise warm space, like when your beer comes out of a cooler on a warm humid day. They may appear to be well insulated, but they're not. There are probably small gaps between the batts, or maybe the cans are not even completely...

    Fargo Area Fishing

Welcome to the 'middle of nowhere' as far as hunting and fishing opportunities go. I take the 40-50 minute drive into MN for my fishing. Sucks because with an hour and a half round-trip, it doesn't work to just go fish for a few hours. It's pretty much all day or nothing. I guess there's the...

    Great shooting

I meant the way the words come out of her mouth, not her shooting style. At one point she said something about how the bullet may not have enough "oomph" to break the egg at that range.

    Great shooting

That's not an easy shot with a center fire, laying prone. Pretty amazing considering the typical ES in velocity of even the matchiest of "match" 22lr ammo. On a side note, while she is nice to look at, I find her "style" kind of annoying and off-putting. Does that make me gay?

    6.5 Creedmoor loads?

That's impressive considering the prior two years or so they've only been able to get small amounts and it doesn't last a day. Maybe the H4350 shortage is coming to an end. Or... maybe I should go buy it all up and gouge you poor bastards.

    6.5 Creedmoor loads?

The 6.5 is still relatively new to me, but here's what I know. The 139 Lapua Scenar is an absolute tack-driving dream, but after my poor experience with it on coyotes, I certainly would not try it on deer. The 143 Eldx has been a bit more finicky in my gun. Of course I'm expecting routine <...

    Reloading Manual

That's a pretty big chunk to bite off at once. I would pick one and learn it well. I generally prefer Hornady bullets, so I'd start with that manual. It's well laid out and is a great resource. Their max loads are a little weak, but I think that's pretty common these days. You wouldn't...

    Freezing sewer vent pipes

I have this problem with one of mine. It has a bend and a horizontal run just a few feet below the roof line, so the copper T is no help. I insulated it in the attic, but if that helped, it wasn't much. I'm pretty sure I tried WD-40 last year with no success. I just cleaned it up last week...

    Coyote success rate

I don't get to go enough / live close enough to prime coyote habitat to know the difference, but my brother lives near Pierre and shoots between 50 and 75 every year. I've heard similar comments from him over the years about this time of year. I would think that this recent cold snap would get...

    Coyote Howling back

You should go on with your normal sequence, rabbit / some type of prey distress. If they don't come, you can try to get closer (like cut the distance in half) and try another distress sound. When it gets closer to mating season (late Jan, Feb), I would try more coyote vocalizations to induce...

I guess it depends on what your goals are. If it's to shoot a lightweight bullet at the most insane velocity you can achieve, and turn varmints into a pink mist within 400 yards, then a slow twist is fine.

    Barrett Fieldcraft Rifles

I read a review in Field and Stream (or some such), and I was like "meh". Appeared to be another Rem 700 clone. However, the extended mag well and the way they did the muzzle are pretty smart. Alas, they don't appear to come in left hand, so they can get bent as far as I'm concerned...
