    North Dakota Game Wardens Assc

I was under the impression that it was already illegal to carry a rifle of any kind if you're accompanying a big game hunter, but I grew up in SD. From SDGFP: "NONLICENSEES/ACCOMPANIMENT Firearm Big Game Licensee: No person possessing a firearm, including a muzzleloading firearm, or a bow and...

Talk me into a deer rifle

You can certainly do this. I did with my 7mm for a 30 cal suppressor. Just cut to 1/2 x28 and loctite the adapter on it to go 5/8 x24.

Talk me into a deer rifle

I've replaced about every part on my Remington SPS and it still pisses me off. I can't recommend it. As for caliber, surely you've done enough Internet reading by now to know 6.5 Creedmoor is the end-all be-all short action cartridge. Now that Lapua makes Creed brass, there's no reason not...

    Who shoots copper?

Well, you say that, but... there are situations where the lead can be fragmented to near microscopic levels, and can be dispersed far from the main wound channel. . There are x-rays that would seem to demonstrate: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=deer+x-ray+lead&FORM=HDRSC2 Maybe it's all...

My brother lives in Pierre and shoots between 60 and 80 every year. Any dents in the population are local and temporary.

    Who shoots copper?

Yep, switched to Barnes TTSX for big game. They kill with authority. Between those and my stainless broad heads, I haven't worried about eating lead in years. So yes, I'm a fan. However, I am not for outlawing lead bullets either. That would be dumb.

AR 10 for deer hunting or just fun

I've been running an AR-10 in 243 for about 10 years, and I really like it for coyotes and deer -- I didn't own a bigger caliber until I had to shoot an elk last year. However, it is about 15# loaded with suppressor and bipod, and not what most would consider a good "walking" gun. No matter...

    Timber wolves~

I love trees, but am not a big fan of wolves. Their reintroduction is a thinly-veiled attempt to reduce / eliminate the need for hunting. Seems to have already worked for moose in MN. The irony is that the "PETA" folk want to eliminate hunting because it's "cruel". You ever see how a wolf...

    .243 for Mule Deer?

This used to be the only way I knew how to deer hunt. That bullet is so fast, you barely have to lead them.

    Problems with inconsistency

While I agree that guns tend to like a particular load, and you should try a few, I don't think that would create the wild inconsistencies (missing the paper) that you reported. Most likely the scope, rings, or bases. I would try it with a known-good scope. The other thing to check is that...

    Coyote / high capacity magazine

They're illegal to hunt game animals with. While legal for coyotes, they are indeed a poor choice. Use a varmint bullet. For a factory round, the American Eagle 50 grain varmint-tip is hard to beat. They're dirt cheap, group well (out of my gun anyway), and kill with extreme prejudice. - -...

    Sub MOA for $199??

Agreed. Before I knew better, I used a crush washer on my suppressor (mostly because the factory flash hider had come with it). I didn't find that it threw it out of alignment, but it did make it hard to always get it on exactly as tight as it was before. Varying degree of tightness =...

    Theropy

Did they all come together? I've suppressed quite a few in my day. Any that didn't get the first bullet seemed to know exactly what was happening.

    Handlaoding

The variances you get in seating depth (base to ogive) are likely caused by variances between individual bullets, even when they're out of the same box. Try measuring the bullets only from base to ogive. You'll see they're not entirely consistent, at least not down to the thousandth. Some...

Dont be a snowflake. Die fighting

While Clints "style" takes some getting used to, I nonetheless find him entertaining. There are some good points hidden in his rants.

Sorry, I only did it because I know you're an A-Max fan and I enjoy your informative but (sometimes) aggressive debate style.

    Sub MOA for $199??

I love my Tango 6, and I got it for a steal. Built very solid and tracks perfectly. They definitely put some thought into it and designed it for a real shooter. I also love my Kilo 2200 range finder, but I had to go through some anguish to get it. I bought the 2000, it performed at about...

    .243 for Mule Deer?

Uh-oh... People don't like it when you tell them their target bullet is not designed for hunting and therefore may not perform consistently. Surprised KurtR hasn't spit his coffee all over the screen yet. ;) BTW: I don't have first-hand experience with the AMAX, but my brother found the same...

    Sub MOA for $199??

Maybe. I've had pretty good luck with them matching price on a number of different items (including online prices). The only one they couldn't was a closeout price on a Sig Sauer Tango 6 on Optics Planet.
