Which wild game meat tastes the best?

Anyone have any ideas for cooking a swan? Bought a tag last year but didn't get a shot, I plan to put in a little more effort for one this year. I was planning on grilling or maybe a crockpot recipe.

    Pheasant Recipes?

My favorite way to cook pheasant, Mix flour, salt, and pepper. Let whole boneless breasts soak in an egg for a bit and then roll in the flower. Pan fry in a hot skillet just until they are brown then remove. Mix a can of cream of mushroom with a splash of milk and some onion powder to make a...

Numbers are in: Up, Up, Up

Last year was tough hunting in the SE part of the state, we found some pheasants all season but still not as many around as 2016. Saw one covey of sharptails and a few singles last year they are really down. More turkeys hatched around here this year than there has been in a while though.

    Gun apps

We all need to stand against any form of gun control, because we know once they get an inch they’ll take a mile. Just look at what happened to most of europe as well as australia, I for one would like to be able to pass on the tradition of shooting and hunting to my kids without becoming an...

    Who’s ready for trapping?

I’m in SE part of the state, I don’t run a long line either. I won’t have any snares out but probably a half dozen coyotes sets, a couple coon and badger sets around the farm yard and a few weasel boxes. Used milk jugs for a while but seems like people have more success with the boxes so I’m...

    Squirrel season extended

Yep, cottontail is real good, with wild rabbits just make sure to always clean with gloves on and check the liver for spots. It’s not common but they can carry tulermia.

I havn’t trapped the last two years but I’ll be back at it this year. I’ll be making mostly coyote and raccoon sets, as well as some weasel boxes. Going to go after a badger or two this year as well, anyone else getting excited to catch some fur?
