A Public Land outside ND reminder

I grew up hunting in Blue Plate land (please don't hate me). Then at the turn of the new millennium, my uncles took me on my very first duck hunt, which happened to be in North Dakota. I was in eighth grade. Talk about setting the bar high! It's the main reason I applied at UND (actually, the...

Venom Floats - ice fishing tackle must see

Those have been out for 5-6 years, haven't they? I have a set. Not too tickled. Kind of cumbersome. The little weights with the needle to stick in and fine-tune your bobber is a pain to store. Always wants to tip up and keep the lid on your little tackle container from shutting. I've yet to...

    The Lucky 8

Isn't it the lucky 7 since one of the 8 licenses is auctioned through the Wild Sheep Foundation?

    Early goose

Well, I got a call from my landowner buddy and I guess we'll be field hunting this early season after all! I know...I'm a hypocrite.

Dog dies from blue green algae in Lake Ashtahbula

Dogs can definitely get sick from licking the toxins off their fur, too. So yeah...when in doubt, keep them out.

Dog dies from blue green algae in Lake Ashtahbula

From what I understand, this kills everything. Unsure about fish specifically, but that's one way you can tell if it's in the area. Sometimes ducks or other critters will take a drink and die on the bank.

Reuben Venison Brats 'n Onion Rings

I've corned my fair share of venison roasts for traditional reubens, but never in brat form. Color me intrigued.

    Hi, I'm New

I believe ruffed grouse have the most potent fart-laced entrails of any game animal. Which makes sense since they're also the tastiest morsels on God's green earth. I'm suspicions of any critter that doesn't eek out a bit of gas when eviscerated.

Dog dies from blue green algae in Lake Ashtahbula

I wrote a story on blue-green algae back in 2012. Basically what fnznfwl said. Take a long stretch of stable water, warm temps and nutrient rich runoff. Then, add a good spell of wind to concentrate the cyanobacteria on one side of the lake. These are always present in the water and are normally...

    Radio Show

God the Big Dogz were hilarious. My wife even liked their morning radio show. They still on? Morning shows in the FM area stink like sweaty ballsack. Thankfully Duke 104.7 has no DJ, thus no morning show. Just old country music. Which is just fine by me.

Oregon rancher receives government request to survey his property

So you want to throw a bunch of coffee grounds into the Mighty Mo to protest taxes? Is that what I'm hearing?

Vikings QB hurt in practice today?

C'mon Kurt...we already know what the coaching staff and front office are made of...And it definitely ain't guts or backbone.

Vikings QB hurt in practice today?

Well...now I guess everyone has the perfect excuse for the Vikings to puke all over another football season -- and in a brand new stadium, to boot. Should be entertaining.

Vikings QB hurt in practice today?

Is there video somewhere of the incident? I'm trying to visualize how you have a potentially season-ending injury without making contact with another person. Did his upper half zig while his lower half zagged?

    Early goose

Case-in-point why I've basically given up field hunting. I'll miss this fat corn-crazed Halloween green heads, but I won't miss the stress and anxiety of worrying about getting to our A, B, C, D, E, F, G or H field without someone already setting up.

Nice little story that paints a brief picture on the shit-show that has become the North Dakota August goose season: http://www.northlandoutdoors.com/2016/08/29/10655/

    Hi, I'm New

I did not think of the layering issue. Excellent observation. My own arguments have come at the office. When I've gone in for my morning dump, on several occasions someone has come to the urinal and I've heard him unbuckle his buckle in order to take a piss. Now, had said pisser just come in...

    Hi, I'm New

Is the appropriate way to pee standing up by simply unfurling your dong through an open zipper, or going through the steps of unbuckling and unbuttoning before proceeding to unleash the beast. Have had this debate with others. Still no clear answer.
