Veteran Hard-Hunting Wirehair FREE to Good Home

I think I need to tell you a bit about both this dog and where he's coming from to truly appreciate what's up for grabs. Six years ago, I stumbled across a local German wirehaired pointer breeder. He was a gruff, loud guy who laughed a lot and liked to slap your back. Out of a 13-dog litter...

Brown one might be a pudelpointer. Not that it matters. But still, hope the owners get wind of this!

The Problem Facing ND Waterfowl Hunting

I think everyone ought to take a deep breath and hear what I have to say: Wait it out. I firmly believe attention is shifting north. Thirty years ago, North Dakota was the untapped waterfowl mecca. Today, darn near every duck and goose hunters has had a sip. Some who have been at the trough...

    Goose Nirvana

I shot some big, fat American blackbucks in PEI Canada a couple years ago (dream trip...if you can go, GO). Plucked a few after inspiration of Hank Shaw posts. Cooked up some on the grill. Some in the smoker. Some in a fry pan. Know what I discovered? I don't care for duck skin. It doesn't...

    Goose Nirvana

I've been keeping duck legs for years and years. I'm not kidding when I say they're one of my family's favorite meals. I usually save up a season's worth and we have them in one big feed. Finger licking good. But geese have been different. I can honestly say my opinion has been forever...

    Goose Nirvana

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bit of a wild game hypocrite when it comes to Canada geese. Sure they're fun to hunt, but I've never been the biggest fan of actually eating them. These days, all of the breast meat is turned into jerky, which is always a hit and often gets shared with...

    Early goose

I lived off wild game through college, mostly waterfowl. Duck is still one of my favorite meals. But after ODing on goose sloppy Joe's, I can barely stand the smell of raw goose flesh any more. Jerky or something heavily diluted with other more desirable meat for this guy.

    Good Boot Buytured sale on

800G Thinsulate is a recipe for swamp foot. Unless it's December. If they get something under 200G or, preferably, uninsulated, I'd be on that like cow shit on a boot sole.

    Musike on Audubon

That certainly doesn't appear to be a pure-strain. Tiger perhaps? Would make sense. I can't think of the last time I heard NDG&F stocking pure-strain skis in Nodak.

    Scheels Hunting Expo...Anyone Going?

We picked up four bags of Nutrisource for the price of three, a dog handler bag, some treats for the hounds (wife spoils them) and I got myself a new C&S duck call. Hurt the wallet, but everything was 20-30 percent off. We saved a bundle.

    Damn Boat Motors

We did! Brought a single 14-inch eye home that my son split with his little cousin. If we would have had more than an hour to fish, we may have done better. But I was just happy that everything worked.

    Damn Boat Motors

Well boys and girls, the time has come to inform you of the culmination of many months of wondering, researching and working. I decided that I couldn't in good conscience bring the motor in to a professional to get worked on. I just needed to rip the carbs out again and see if maybe I didn't...
