Hey Guy, bathroom scales are portable and they work outside too........just sayin.
Digital scales ARE neat, but I don't have one, so the bathroom de-liar will have to do for now. Nice pile of honkers there Big J. Good to see your out in the fields whackin and stackin.
Watched a buddy put a round through the side of his truck bed before I could stop him. He laid his rifle across the wall of the truck bed not thinking that the muzzle is a few inches LOWER than the scope and perforated the opposite side wall. On a positive note, it was a complete pass though.
Solo goose hunt this morning and scratched down 5. Which was a great plenty as all 5 were over 12 lbs. Ducks were scarce, but then again I wasn't scouting or hunting them. Was nice to get out and pull in some birds, but WAY WAY to hot to hang out much past 9 for this guy. Good Luck Fellas!!!
Seems my daughter and I were more successful in the Fall Turkey Lottery than in the deer lottery. If the fall hunt is anything like my spring turkey hunt, it should be a great time with my daughter. Anyone else chasing these large feathered yummies?
I FINALLY GOT A WILD CHUKAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe this is the legal answer. Unless the signs have signatures or some such by the Sheriff. There are codes and ordinances that allow for the Sheriff to act in such instances in the interests of public safety. I'd definitely check prior to headin' down there.
For anyone looking to start out, I've got a PSE Pulsar that killed a deer every year for many many many years that someone can have for free. It's a good solid bow. No frills, just a good 20 yard hunting bow. About a 50 lb pull or so. Give'er a checkup at a bow shop and you should be good to...
I stopped looking to weather men for long term predictions YEARS ago. They're even suspect for the 7 day forecast. About 2 days is all I give them and even then it's a coin flip. It's rain gear AND sunscreen for this guy, just to cover all the bases.
Gut as soon as you can, hang'er up, and rinse down with cold cold water. You can fill the chest cavity with ice if you wish and let hang overnight and then process the next day. Early season for me is a shoot'em, gut'em, and cut'em kind of thing. Later in the year I like to let my deer hang...
