    BTW... Scheels has the 18 on sale now for $339.99. I finally got to see some fish on the sonar, its been pretty dead on OAHE. They were catfish, or at least the three I landed were. It was cool seeming a fish on the sonar and then having it bite and catch it, even if it was a cat.

    I know some Native guys on SR that tell the Tribal GF to basically go get F'ed. They've gotten tickets from them but go to court with copies of the treaties and get off every time. Most just pay the small fees not to be hassled.

    I've had days like that, but I can't remember which direction was better on what days. I know when its really blowing, you almost have to go with the wind. I'll put the kicker in reverse to slow us down, If i'm going too fast.

    During the 2000's when Oahe was at it's lowest I was forced to fish current. I found that if trolling cranks, the ONLY way to troll them was into current or upstream. Current was so strong I could use my 175 hp motor LOL. Burned a ton of gas but it was worth it!!

    As far as fishing, I let the fish decide. I have a kicker so going into the wind is an option. Depending how the wind is blowing on the structure I'm trying to fish, and how hard it's blowing factor into it. Without a kicker the decision is pretty much made for you.

    Not to mention all the people who live and WORK in small towns all across the state. It used to be the land owners appreciated the guys who fixed their cars, taught their kids, delivered their mail. I know my dad had a lot of great relationships with landowners since he was a parts salesman...
