I've been looking at getting a different pickup and have it narrowed down to 2. Both are F150s both are ecoboosts. I don't claim to be much of a gear head so here I am. The 11 has fewer miles (15K fewer than the 13) but I've read on the web that the turbo is slightly smaller. The 13 has more miles and has been smoked in. Not nocking it, just don't care for the smell and I know it's hard to get rid of. But if what I read is true, it has a bigger turbo. I don't see pulling anything more than a boat or 4 wheeler on a regular basis, but have no experience driving an Ecoboost to know if it's a difference worth getting the panties all bound up over. Oh and both are priced virtually the same. Thanks for any input

If you buy either make sure you buy a pedal bike too so you will have something to ride instead of walk home.

Haven't heard anything real bad on either. Some had coil issues but haven't really heard anything on turbos. Have driven a few but I ended up with the 5.0. Check out the F150 forums lots of info there. The guys I know that have the Eco's biggest complaint is fuel mileage. I have never heard any of them complain about power though.

I've had both still own the '13 I personally never noticed a difference towing or not. Mileage on both is similar and I haven't had a problem with either. '11 had 47k on it when traded and '13 currently has 40k. Hope this helps good luck and enjoy.

I have been able to run up to devils lake from Fargon and back on one tank pulling me boat. It doesn't matter with $1.29 gas anymore.

As a manager of a fleet of these, I would not recommend them, have two crap out recently. One turbo let go $4200 and the other shredded a motor $10,429. Not happy with junk

I think the '13 comes with the heated tailgate. Nice feature when pushing it to the repair shop

I do believe there were a large amount of problems with the on the 11's. How do I know? Sold them. Lotsa horror stories about them going into limp mode when the power was needed, in example, pulling out on a 2 lane highway to pass a semi and bam, limp mode. Or snow getting up in the middle bottom bumper opening, which you can buy a cover for.

Go 12 or newer. If you're after the pickup and just want an F-150 just get the 5.0 If you must have the Eco try n go as new as possible. Personally I'd go Eco and mod er up. Lotsa fun to be had with em. Beware, the mileage ain't there but the power is. As per towing, you'll be running through a lot less gears when going up n down hills with the Eco.

You could always look at Dodge Ram:D. Got two that have never let me down with 104,000mi on my 2500 and 235,000mi on my 1500. Neither have anything real major aside form normal maintenance.

every brand of vehicles have their issues. just hit some forums on trucks and you'll see. buy the one you want and be happy with it. If your concerned buy an extended warranty.

Haters gonna hate. Averaging 18 over the last month just commuting back and forth to work and gets better on the highway for my '15. No complaints.
