Looks like the tribe has shut down access at the singing bridge for ice fishing this year. Will close down lots of the grand river . Seems like a bull shit move.

Another great example of our tax dollars at work to help them out.

wont be doing that as that would be trespassing and with how low the water is a fair chance you would be stuck anyway

Kurt do you know for sure why the access is closed

don’t know why but there is no good one.

Will this be like the whole "access permit" thing this spring that never materialized? There was big talk of no day passes, only year passes, and a guard at the gate. Neither of which made it to fruition. I'm guessing there will be plenty of yelling about it and there will be impact. If half the town didn't drive across the bridge for gas that would send a good message too. I just can't understand why they would want to remove that part of their business and piss people off?

It really sucks as the access situation in Mobridge sucks anymore. I remember as a kid driving down onto Ritters and anywhere north of there no problem. Little trails all the way to Cuthead. Now everything is fenced & gated up. Really poor access to the north as a whole, along with the Grand. Add in some snow and you're fishing very limited areas without tracks or a sled.

The fishing has been in the suck bad enough that it may not matter. I'd guess the tourney directors might be having a conversation with the tribe though. What a joke!

So in past summers they never charged a day pass for the N ramp until this year, as soon as they do. Some dumb fuck from Mob threatens to shoot up the casino the week of the fishing tournament. How stupid is that? So fast forward to now, they can still do what they want with it being their property! You just said you wouldn’t go around to block because you’ll be trespassing, so to me it sounds like you’re bitching to bitch because you don’t get the benefit of accessing that way free of charge.

truthfully I don’t really care don’t ice fish. Facts are that ramp had turned into a piece of shit since the tribe took it over. Who was the dumb fuck that called in about shooting in the casino? Some one did that but didn’t know they were from here. What block are you talking about going around? Every thing the tribe touches goes to shit . Prove me wrong what have they improved?

No dog in this fight, but been through these tribes flexing they're muscle before, still happening here in minnesota....most often another money grab.one year in order to fish leech lake we non-natives that purchase fishing licenses and pay taxes were forced to pay extra on our license fee to fish leech lake as the tribe owned all the land around leech lake,as a kid I remember our family coming to a armed native road block approaching leech lake so they could check our license for the fee,old man had us kids lay on the floor of the car as we approached the road block, locals spread stories of natives drinking at these road blocks, beware of target practice.

In AZ you have to pay to do anything on a rez. Hunt, fish, camp...it's like going into another state or country...they do what they want.

If there were smart up here, they'd manage their resources like in AZ and have some of the best hunting and fishing anywhere.

But it sounds like they're not so bright...so fat chance of that happening I guess...

I wouldn't put a nickel into an Indian casino. Not a nickel.

He works(ed) for Mobridge high school, that’s why they had Mobridge police dep/tribal cops patrolling the tournament. The block in the picture you uploaded. And I can tell you why you see the tribe/casino only doing wrong in your eyes. They finally started capitalizing on their resources, and started to back their own laws/policy’s, etc. sure it does affect everyone, but so does ND/SD or any other government in the country if you want to use their resources via hunting and fishing.

have you not seen the animals coming off reservations?? ND’s second biggest bull comes from a reservation by a nonmember. Multiple giants come from reservations every year.

In AZ, the some of the best trout and crappie fishing is on the rez. A lot of big bulls come off the rez. The only issue I have is that elk hunting is freaky expensive. But the fishing is reasonably priced. Especially if you know how to catch the big browns!

They're towns are trash, the people are mostly alcoholics and druggies, sick dogs running the town, but their casinos and hunting/fishing are great! Priorities I guess...

This tribal issue could get real nasty, just think what would happen if infact states did implement toll booth's,surcharge for electricity used on the rez and casino's,maintaing roads etc
