As a Yar-Craft homer, the performance of their boats always puts a smile on my face! As they say Total Commitment, No Compromise. Maybe that means once over 70 mph you better be committed, lol. On the the flip side talking about the boat race the precedes these tournaments, I guess I've always heard how the Triton 216s can really stretch their legs but never see or hear of any at the front of the pack? Anybody been in or around one that's running the big Verado?

By drive it he means it starts chine walking at that speed, all boats will walk at certain speeds some you can drive through some you can't it's all in the shape of the hull. Really the last foot of the hull and weight distribution

I fish out of a 209 quite often and they really get up and start chine walking at 65-66mph....75 might be a handful.

Hey short, sometimes it's fun to just have fast stuff, doesn't mean you need to be worth a darn at fishing, lol. Kinda like cars, trucks, sleds, bikes, ATVs, jet skis, golf carts, lawnmowers, or really most anything with an engine, lol. Pretty sure, I've never heard anybody say "boy, my boat is too fast" or "My truck has too much power, wonder if I can get a tuner to bump it down a little". on the flip side, I've heard lots of "sure wish XXXX had another 50hp or went another 10pmh faster. Maybe nature of the beast but I'd love to take that what Yar for a run!

I have had a 2014 209, 2018 209, and 2017 219. The 2014 had a bit of chine walk but Yar made a small change to the hull and it is flat out bring to drive now how stable it is. Still fast and still a wave crusher; but yawn at 63....

I talked to the 1st owner of that 209/400 this year. He reported 74 with a custom Rev 4. He did say it was a bit of a handful top end.

I run a 216 Triton with a 300HP. Can get 62mph with 2 people and full livewell. I believe the 216 with a 350HP they are getting 67mph. Reason you don't here the Triton leading is that no one has a 20ft Triton with a 400HP on it or 21ft with a chipped out 350hp (at least on Sak that I have heard). Yar-Craft have historically always have had a fast hull. If you look at it from the front there hull is steeper. Anyways if you took a 20ft boat and put a 350 or 400hp on it regardless if it is a lund, warrior, ranger, triton, yar-craft it is going to be speedy.

Tritons do fly. Was behind a 216 going 60 in my boat and it walked away after 9 miles damn near out of sight. Would like to take a ride in the 21 footer sometime

Was in a Triton 206 as a Co day one of NWT on devils, you couldn't talk me into buying one of those. Layout was ok but ride through 3 footers was less than desirable. When she got calmer in the afternoon top end was 56 with full livewell but Pro did admit he should toy with some different props to get more out of it.
Anyway would love to see the final result from 4bears tourney for full field. I was fishing the west side north of the west slides on Sunday...had a tourney boat with a couple...ahem, local casino guys pull right in on us when our net came out. I watched him fish my line for 45 minutes and laughed the whole time...money can buy you a nice Lund 2075 with a 300 pro verado, but it can't teach you where the auto-pilot button is on your terrova! total shit show while I got a quick limit and he got frustrated enough to leave after fighting 2-3 footers into the wind with no boat control. Wish i'd have filmed it.

I run a 2017 209 Yar witha 300 Verado. Last year I ran beside a Triton 216 with a 350 on it. I had two peaple, full fuel, windshield closed, both of us sitting at consol, and full livewell. He had three people, one sitting on livewell, not sure on fuel or water in livewell. We ran side by side for a long time, but he did eventually creep by me. I was running a different line, but about 10 miles down the lake we met up again, so I would say similar speed. They are both fast boats.
