To me, true AI would have the ability to reason and not just follow programming but grow and learn like a inteligant creature.

Why do you say that, can you explain why. I have never used it. So I have no idea if I'm missing anything or not.
I've seen what it's capable of, and how that's grown exponentially over a short time. When paired with advances in robotics, at some point billions of humans will no longer have a purpose.
Whether it decides to remove us, or we just fade away due to a Universe 25 type situation, I don't know, but humans need purpose in their lives. We need some strife and adversity to overcome. When that is removed, so is our self-worth. I just don't see this ending well.

its almost impossible to predict, but its going to be crazy, Id like to think people will revert back valuing family and community, children wont need to move away from their parents to pursue money and opportunity. People will have time to form more social bonds than we currently do. I get a lot of fulfillment from growing my own food, taking care of animals. People will no doubt have much more free time to do what they want, instead of laboring at jobs that they dont enjoy, just to survive.

I believe the real reason for the hard push for AI is not anything for our benefit but simply control. Saw an interesting video that said Palantir and Meta are working together to use AI, facial recognition and Meta data to compile Trust factor numbers on everyone. There are so far along with this already that they can use this to predict how likely you are to commit a crime or comply with the govt. They can in real time evaluate by people you like to follow on line, likes on facebook, even by your scroll speed going by videos you choose not to watch. It is exactly like the movie Minority Report with Tom Cruise. Except we might have to live out the version of the movie.

The internet has made it easy for like minded people to communicate , just like we are doing on this site, we learn fishing and hunting skills from one another but there is a place called dark internet.
Iv'e never been there but you can meet people on the dark side of society with the same intent and buy anything you want, including human sex slaves.

My opinion is if AI can profile and group people for who they are and round up the craziest people in the world it would be a good thing.

I know we have rights, I get that, but we gave up our privacy when we decided to buy a cell phone. You don't even have to be LEO to track someone via cell phone.

Tracking down criminals is fine by me.

As dumb as AI is i dont trust it. You can ask it a questoin then convince it that its wrong and half the time it is wrong. To me as of now it is just a fancy google....that is wrong 50% if the time.

Given the historical track record of our Govt You would have be extremely optimistic to believe power like this would be used for good.

Who is making the “criminals” list? AI is capable of making the list include people that talk shit about AI on an outdoors websites based in North Dakota. Then they could just make those people disappear. It might happen right when they’re in the middle of typi
