In the wind, today "vista outdoors" bought Hevi shot,they also own federal and Remington and cci, Hevi shot wasn't a big seller but maybe a threat,wonder what gives?

Who was making hevi shots handgun ammo? Maybe they could expand their capacity with more capital?

Vista darn near has a monopoly on domestic ammo at this point. Hornady is doing really well with precision stuff, there are importers for stuff like Barnaul, Tula, Sellior & Bellot, Vympl, etc. but I’m thinking Vista must control more than 1/2 of all ammo production and sales in the US.

Agreed BW, never had a clue vista was so big,Hevi shot products came out of Sweet Home OR., kinda suspected they were struggling two years ago when they changed shotshell recipe on Hevi metal, dropped tungsten replaced with bismuth then made a bs claim that the new Hevi metal increased kill range by another 10 yards

I've been onboard using hevi shot shotshell product since the late 90's steel sucked so bad in the begining(still does for range shooting) but always liked the older ammo when hevi shot used remington shell casing's and remington "nitro primer's" then they changed to "cheddit"(same company that produces fiocci ammo) casing's for some reason the quality/performance went down hill.will be interesting if vista can produce a less expensive ammo@ $3.50/shell for 100% hevi shot something's got to give.
