You inhale 7 spiders a year in your sleep. Hope that helps

Came swimming up under our dock once and one of those huge barn spiders jumped onto my head. OK it probably fell onto my head when I hit it's Web but either way it was spooky as hell! Went thrashing backwards like i was having a seizure! I must say it felt good watching the 20 or so bluegills tear it to pieces.[/QUOTE

I could see 10 bluegills coming in but 20??? Sounds like another geces story.

Yep you sure got me there we never see big packs of bluegills pretending to be piranhas in the lake!;:;bowdown

I have seen several Black widows show up on pallets of stuff from out of state shipments in recent years here in the Bis/man and surrounding areas. This is what adds more fear for me as one just doesn't know which ones are bad or not anymore with the global overnight economy brining in exotic critters and diseases from all over the world.

When I was a kid, I used to catch spiders and put them in a jar to duke it out. One that I caught took out about 6 or 7 other spiders until he finally got beat. I also used to catch flies and grasshoppers and put them in their webs and watch them go to work. I would rather avoid them now, but I was fearless as a kid.

Ick, the thought of being in the water, under something, (the feeling of being a bit trapped) with a big spider on my head, just started me sweating a lil.

Yeah, western widows are native here and sometimes the big fat easterns show up from down south with freight. We have scorpions in ND too, in case you needed more help sleeping.

down south we always had black widows around the house, they were as common as any other spider. never heard of anyone ever getting bit besides that one kids uncles cousin no one ever met. I think their fangs are just too tiny to deliver any venom unless they get caught in the clothes or blankets and get smushed up against thin skin like the back of your hand or foot.

I've personally seen all these in the badlands. Quite surprising. The wind scorpions are super creepy.

but our camel spiders (solfugids) aren't near as big as the ones in the mid east.
