I like suffix 18lb cause it's what I was taught with and it works for me but I've never tried anything else so I'm probably not much help lol

I use Suffix 832 advanced. Sinks faster than the other stuff. With this I am usually one color less to get my Cranks down to 35’+ verses a standard leadcore but, it also kinks easier so I am pretty careful handling it. It’s more expensive than the others so Its a toss because of the higher kink factor which exposes the lead and makes the line rough If you’re not careful

Updated

prefer18lb lead and 20ft 12lb berkley 100% fluorcarbon leader.

I've had great luck with 18lb Cabela's brand.
I tried suffix for a year and didn't care for it. I didn't like the kinking or how it ties. I don't remember the brand, but it had a yellow package and boat on the front. That broke too easily.

I like the Suffix as well. The additional depth per foot of line makes a big difference when you’re headed down past 30 feet. Won’t say it’s the best, but I like it better than what I can compare it to.

Guy I would venture to say it is due to the fish moving deeper and because the line sinks faster and goes deeper. K

Suffix 832 hands down, it does kink easily and after one season I spool off what amounts to 3 colors so I normally get two seasons out of 10 colors of suffix then I put 10 new colors on the third year.
