i'm always curious, how is it people come to be fans of college programs that are not there alma matter, local to them, or the pride of their state?

It's called being a "Fair Weather Fan" I met a guy that was Bulls fans in the mid 90's. He said he was a Lakers fan in the 80's but now he had all kinds of Bulls jackets and shirts. Probably switched back to the Lakers shortly after Jordan left. Now those same guys are rooting for Golden State.

i'm just so happy for the kids that get to play... they would prolly give up a years salary in their professional life just to be in a shoot around with the duke team... will b lots of awesome stories told by them in years to come even if they get blown out by 40...

I normally can only watch about 30 seconds of basketball before I want to claw my eyes out. However, I may force myself to watch on Friday just to see them get destroyed. With enough beer, anything is tolerable...

I assume you didn't play BB ....
Many of us who did, usually yell at the tv when shit doesn't go right or when said team ain't doing schitz, kinda gets in your blood if you played the game. Always a head scratcher when a player blows an easy shot, but yet they drop 3 pter's like its no big deal.

Wish I had the opportunity to play with the 3 pt shot line back in the day.

Sure it'll be an honor for the Bison team to play Duke..............its the big dance,

8counting,
i too don’t see duke losing if they play the way they can play. I think looking at that side Florida state is scary for one their a conference opponent and 2 they are scary athletic maybe not the best basketball players per say but just athletic dudes. UNC has a tough draw without a doubt but like you said they play like they should shoot avg and clean up the boards they should be sitting along with duke in the finals but I don’t trust that Italian coach from Kentucky . I don’t buy or ever buy Virginia. I don’t care what their regular season record is in the ACC they don’t score enough when it matters to win. People can post all the stats they want Virginia will not win it all. Period. It’s gonna be one of the 6 teams that win it ever year look back at the last 20. Duke, UNC, Nova, UConn, Florida, Kentucky , Kansas have most of not all off the top of my head .

Nope...wrestled.

that reminds me of junior high and HS... it seemed like wrestlers were notoriously bad at BB in gym

of course it's less obvious that BB players couldn't wrestle their way out of a paper bag

Was there ever a case of someone so athletic at both that it was a dilemma for them to decide which they would choose to pursue in HS? I can't recall any at my school.

Pretty spot on there guy......My brother was a wrestler and I was the bb player, I did try a dab in wrestling back in the day, I was just a freaking toothpick, but I could shoot hoops better, brother was just the opposite, he tried BB, but was better at wrestling.......lol

Played bball in 5th and 6th grade. I was bad at the game. Very good at fouling out though. That part I had down.

I’m all in on the bison. I just placed a wager that will allow me to move up in the fishing boat world if the bison win it all. I can already see myself hammering down on the new 350 verado with sparkles blinding all the walleye as I pass overhead!! Go Bison.

Bizon are 27 point dogs at this point. I put $50 on them hoping Duke gets up 20 and takes their foot off.

Guy I'm guessing you went to BHS back in the day, BB was very much looked down upon then but the players thought they were they were the real shit, they sucked back then, and wrestling ruled on the way to a national duel win streak record, still can't watch college or an NBA game. Would be like toothpicks under the fingernails to me but will watch class B state every yeat
