I have a good radio/stereo in both the Toon and fishing boat.

Both will eventually be sold with the boat and may be the only part left that is truly "good as new".

They get used, but not very often.

loud music indeed rocks whilst doing activities that are enhanced by it - like skiing/boozing

kind of like drunk guys - lots of fun to be around when you're drunk too - but irritating as hell when you're not

I never fish without tunes going, but I don't have it so loud it bothers other boaters unless they're fishing too close anyway. In that case, I'll crank it up even more. I have docks for my phone and portable XM as well as radio and CD. I love my music....can't live without it.

I would think that in the price of a new boat, and with so many options "packaged" the price of a radio is negligible. I also think one can certainly elect not to turn the radio on.

I would have a radio. Yes I would. I would not use it often, but if it didn't work, it would bug me.

I am purty close to starting to wear headphones when shorefishing. Noise cancelling ones, with no music playing. Got a might tired of "she's startin' now boys" this past spring, every time a guy hooked a fish.

I rarely play tunes and usually fish where nobody else will find me. Fortress of solitude.

i agree that what you are doing is key. Like lifting i like loud metal but there is some thing about being on a boat that makes me like the quiet. Now i guess if i was 22 and on lake havasu loud music and dropping it like its hot would be cool

I rock the wireless headphones with "Lithium channel" type music nearly every morning during my skate session - if I couldn't skate with music I might not skate - seriously

so I get the "music makes a good time" thing - but it's like second hand smoke - it's hard to enjoy your poison without poisoning others

sound on a lake is like that - no getting around it

I'm wondering how many of you have a nice stereo in your boat or what your thoughts are of a guy who does? I have a f/s boat and enjoy using it for both purposes. I did not skimp on electronics, trolling motor or gear so it is a nice fishing boat but the kids talked me into adding a waketower with a bunch of attachments. Now he wants to add a set of tower speakers for when he is behind the boat. I'm wondering about the looks I'm gonna get when I'm unloading to go fishing and no I'm not going to disconnect everything when I want to go. It doesn't really matter to me because it's a family boat but just curious about thoughts

So your just worried about the 'looks' your going to get at the ramp? Well, I think you should live your life worrying about what everyone else thinks. SMH...If I worried about that, I'd never get on the water in my bathtub.

FYI, you'll still hear yourself scream like a little school girl when that log\beaver bumps you in the leg when your fishing in the dark. ;:;rofl

Walleye prefer music. They like anything that has a little bass

All kidding aside I fish with my stereo on and cold Busch light in drink holder. "Hunting fishing loving everyday"

I thought skaters listened to the dead Kennedy's, suicidal Tendencies, RKL, and minor threat.

Its good fishing music too, dude.

I almost always listen to music when fishing so I would recommend having some sort of radio. However, if I can hear your music, it is too loud.

This gives me a new idea for pimping out my Shappell flipover ice house. It will be the envy of the frozen tundra this season. Will be open for suggestions if anyone's got some

reminds me of MN opener on LOW a few years ago. Was fishing a very popular spot with a bunch of other boats. It was a bit crowded but everyone was getting along and fishing was good. Then this old junker boat with 4 or 5 guys pull in and anchor right in the middle of the group and blast their shitty music as loud as they can. the distortion coming from those speakers was unbelievable. Multiple people suggested they turn it down but they just kept on being assholes. I was probably about 150 yds away and it was still very annoying. In a situation like that I wonder if a warden could really do anything.

i am sure you have the hyrdrowave geeks paying 5 bills to play music to the fish -- or you can put in a CD and save the the 5bills. Fish do react favorably imo to certain types of music. i have seen it day in day out.
