Nope we're covered with grass carp here in mn have been my entire life,European carp, redhorse shot them all, been thinking about a road trip to Illinois to tangle with" bighead carp" 100lbs + shot my share of silver carp near "wynot" nebraska nothing big most under 10lbs at the time but target rich environment. Fun times.
I’ve never seen a grass carp that’s pretty cool, was it around the south eastern part of the state?

All over central and southern mn grass carp trash shoreline vegetation when water temps hit upper 60's when bass, panfish are spawning they do alot of damage destroying this habitat. By mid summer they hang in deep water bowfishing is done but "hook n line" is a blast... hellof a fighting fish on lite tackle.

This is about the buffalo sucker they are a river fish but suspect they come out of the lake in spring. We snag them often paddlefishing or hit them with a scale left on the hook. Given have hooked many using jigs or they also eat worms like carp. The one that takes off and either bends your hook or u bring them in .is prolly a buff they have alot of weight and fight hard. Some of the best eating fish if had white meat crazy bone structure it's like 9 prong vs a normal Fish. Just like any in the river u take care of said fish bleed it and chisel the red meat old buffs have alot of red. They are fine eating imo
