Lincoln, kinda...
that would use all your UBI for a few decades no doubt...

That kind of goes to prove my point. Elon can talk about AI and robots doing all these things, but the reality is a Universal Basic Income existence sucks. We already have plenty of examples of this in some form when you take a look at what we did to the Native Americans. The fed government said if you go peacefully to the reservations, we'll feed, house you, and take care of your medical needs.

I am not a fan of the government playing that role again with an even larger part of our society.

But damned if I wouldn't take a log of government cheese every now and then! IYKYK

I get that, but in the past we had human labor producing goods. Its something that could go poorly I admit, but im leaning towards optimistic at this point. When the majority of good are produced by machines that can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, I could see a future where UBI might provide way more than basics, at least in countries that can afford to transition rapidly.

Not where I'd like to be

I think you're overly optimistic. It's been proven a number of times in various populations that when the motivation to be productive is removed, that population suffers in a number of ways. Some picture a world where everyone is on vacation, living their best life. Human nature seems to indicate a global slum filled with rampant alcohol and drug abuse is far more likely.

My guess is the industrial silver shortage must have been filled by those selling their physical coins at the high prices and now the "pinch" isn't as bad and the prices are falling.

One step closer to the end.

Factors Contributing to the Decline

Several key factors are influencing the current drop in silver prices:

  • Federal Reserve Nomination: The nomination of Kevin Warsh as the next chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve has raised expectations for tighter monetary policy. This has strengthened the U.S. dollar, making silver more expensive for foreign buyers.
  • Increased Trading Costs: The CME Group has raised margin requirements for trading silver futures, which has forced many traders to reduce their positions, adding downward pressure on prices.
  • Geopolitical Factors: Easing tensions in regions like the U.S.-Iran situation have reduced the demand for silver as a safe-haven asset.
  • Profit-Taking: Investors who had previously bought silver at higher prices are now selling to lock in profits, contributing to the price drop.

Fear.

Let’s hear some success stories.

Who had the confidence to sell there $10/oz silver at $110/oz or is every waiting for it to reach $200/oz.

One step closer to the end.
It is taking a beating. It probably will take some time to get confidence back in it and the speculators to join in.

Frothy. In the wrong direction. LOL.

Maybe this is the big sell or the precursor to it. ??

Bitcoin and crypto are getting hammered too. I wonder how many took their gains? My little sum is sitting there still but it’s not enough to feel sorry about. Still sitting ok.
