Seems to me that one just has to build homes out of fireproof materials (metal/concrete/brick/stucco). I know that's expensive - but a long term solution is the only logical approach.

Now is a good time to implement such building codes for zones that warrant their implementation. Of course the bureaucrats will make this impossible - but one can dream.

So many people from other countries think its crazy that we build houses out of oil and wood... Cant say I disagree in situations like this.

Sad sad deal. I lost property to a fire. The house was unoccupied due to being renovated. I moved most of the stuff but had a lot of memorabilia, tools, bunch of ammo, but not my home. Imagine losing everything in a day, I mean everything. Cars, boat, camper, home, all your stuff gone, just gone in a day.
Insurance or not it would be an awful thing for sure. I get to sentimentally attached to things. Even fishing lures that have caught me a lot of fish😭😭😭

The biggest tragedy of this will be that while the US government under Biden sends billions of dollars to the Ukraine and the Taliban these people will probably get a measly $750 from FEMA to “restart” thier lives else where like in Hawaii. I’ll bet Trump does a little better;)

California has been prone to fires since before California was California.

Camp Pendleton was on fire every damn day.

Nothing new people, move along.

Juan, residents say fire insurance is not available in California just because annual wildfires...

If folks rebuild just think of the next cali disaster. "Mud slides" all foilage burnt up come rainy season...yikes.
California has a program for those that can't get insurance.
  • More than 1.2 million homes in California are at moderate or high risk for wildfire damage.
  • Most standard homeowners insurance policies will cover fire damages, including damage from wildfires.
  • California residents who live in high-risk areas may apply for the state’s FAIR Plan if they cannot secure coverage elsewhere.
  • The cost of fire insurance in California will largely depend on your home’s location and its historic wildfire risk.

Then expect everyone to play the sympathy card hardcore.. I mean it's impossible not to but JFC... Just Keep sending that money to Ukraine and China over the north Carolina victims, f these evil demonrats... (Yet people will still vote for them..think there's much more behind these "wildfires" than one could ever imagine and that's just scratching the f-ing surface!) these fires just don't naturally start themselves at this kinda pace..
Agree! Still feel sorry for the most of the people.

Also, if they no longer have homes to go back to, let’s deport them, losers.

The banks left holding a mortgage on an uninsured loss are going to get hit hard…probably to all of our detriment…
