Camper People Help!

I have an 2007 Fleetwood Pioneer 26BH. The camper is hooked to a power source but my battery keeps running low. I then get the most annoying alarm sound known to man for low voltage. I am unable to use the camper without a 12 volt battery hooked up. Why does it keep running low even while being hooked to an external power source?

Sorry if this is elementary but I can't figure the problem out!

You'll need to check your converter for a blown fuse or tripped breaker. You can also check circuit by watching a multimeter when someone plugs in the camper.

Any increase indicates a complete circuit. If that's the case then I would look at the batteries, if not then you'll need to find where the circuit is broken.

Watson,

Would the A/C work if the converter's fuse is blown? I did a little research and I know the A/C shouldn't run without the external power. My A/C works fine until the battery goes dry.....

there may be a fuse next to your battery box that may be faulty or how old is your battery, I have a camper that use as living quarters during the summer since I work on the road. The circuit breaker that is next to my battery box was faulty and wouldn't allow my invertor to charge my battery.

Was your A/C working the whole time but the battery would die?

Yea the ac would still work if your plugged in. If you go the route of checking the battery, do an actual load test.

replace the battery if old

mine needed a new battery every 4 years -- otherwise it did goofy stuff

Ive used multiple batteries. I will check the fuse on the converter and or replace the converter. Apparently it is behind the fuse panel. Glad things are so accessible!

Is the alarm from the dual gas monitor? CO2 and propane. Those need to be replaced every 5 years. May be nothing wrong with battery.
