I get a little tired of watching bass fishing but that one is exciting. I don't know if my heart could take fishing in that format. The stress of having someone tell you every time a competitor catches a fish. If it wasn't your day and all your competitors were on fish and the scoreboard updates kept coming you might see my temper come out when my boat runs out to the middle of the lake and dumps all the rods and tackle overboard....haha

My only knock on this format is it seems to force guys into looking for small aggressive fish becasue you need to get fish on the board quick to not be eliminated. Since there is no limit on number they just sit there and catch small fish after small fish and rack up weight rather than looking for just 5 big fish. Gets old after a while watching them catch 12-15" bass all day.

I'm with you dirty, Ref in every boat. I believe 90 to 95% of the people fishing tourneys in North Dakota are straight forward non-cheating people now the other 5% not so much. when you hang big money out there (some)people will do anything to win it.

latest news on this thread... if any of you have been wondering where your checks were (as I have still been waiting because I didn't want to wait around until after 9pm while my wife and baby were in a camper under tornado warnings) I got ahold of ray poitra today, actually had to leave him a voice mail, but he had Kenan call me back to tell me that he plans to cut the checks tomorrow 8/23, nothing like getting things done in a timely manner. Kenan said we can call him back if we have questions but since it took knowing a supervisor at the casino to get ray's number I'll just throw out kenan's so you can let him know you are waiting too 701-421-8206

Have you tried contacting Game & fish? I believe they have to approve all tournaments, and there are requirements that need to be followed. At this point id be complaining to anybody i could that might put the screws down on these guys.

This reminds me of some of my buddies that would play rez basketball tournaments. If they won, many times the prize money would all of the sudden be much smaller than it was supposed to be for the "white guys".

Game and fish has no control over it as its on the rez. Suppose I'll have to call casino again.

I called today again and I got a dumb answer, "oh, I didn't have your phone number, I didn't have your address, and we are trying to figure out if we have to fill out some paperwork for tax reasons" I am 100% positive that my phone number and address were in the registration... my next phone call will be to the states attorney for Mountrail Co. going to give it to Friday before I make that call

As much as this sucks for all of you it's the reason I hung around that night and didn't leave before collecting our cash. I had a very strong feeling that the only way I was going to see any money was to wait it out. Your best bet might be to make a road trip back to 4 Bears and don't leave until you have cash in your hand.
