I have often wondered if NR bowhunters realize that their otc tag isn’t applicable for mule deer... or maybe they don’t care? Claim ignorance? It seems like there was a shitload out over the two weeks I was out last fall
I should have added that to the poll my badI think out of respect to non-residents they should be allowed to bow hunt a week earlier than residents.
One thing I find a little comical about all this is the people saying it seems like there's so many more out there compared to before! Well shit Billy tags are up 300% in 4 years...... im surely not saying that that's the main reason but I'mmmmmmm ah thinking it!:;:stirthepotDeer Bow - Valid for any deer except antlerless mule deer in deer gun hunting unit 4A. Resident bow licenses are not limited. Nonresident bow licenses valid for any white-tailed deer statewide are not limited. Nonresident any-deer bow licenses are limited to 502, a number equal to 15 percent of the total mule deer gun season licenses made available during the previous year
2017 Deer License Statistics
- Nonresident Deer Bow
- 382 - Number of licenses issued
- 746 - Number of applicants for a nonresident deer bow license
You'd be bumping up against archery opener in MN/WI which is usually ~ 9/15ish as well as negating the long Labor Day weekend. You'd also effectively eliminate the opportunity for those excluded from the 1st 2 weeks in ND to shoot a deer in velvet.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but there are a couple of things that might make NR archery hunters decisions much more difficult.
I think it is interesting most of the opposition is from people who don't hunt west regularly or just like to stir the pot with useless info or smart ass comments looking to derail a thread, meanwhile the sneaky weasels lacking the conviction/facts to voice their opinion are showing over 50% for moving the NR season back.
so you are a rut hunter so you would still buy a tag....but equality make believe you would maybe pass I see I am going to have to make another poll next week ;:;rofl thanks for your input have you ever been to the TRNP, or the surrounding national grasslands?
Sorry Flat if you being sarcastic...didn't pick it up at first. The way we were treated was like we were out of state, just sucked
haha yea or they just don't want to be ridiculed for their opinion because it goes against a couple of the sites vocal members, which is why I made the poll so it wouldn't show who voted because if it goes against the grain at all people usually get ran into the dirt for their opinion, and that's why a lot of people lurk and rarely post. it does make good mid day drama reading so it is what it is. I honestly think there is more demand for a reduced NR season then some may think, mostly from western hunters anyways right wrong or indifferent.fixed it

I'm so damn glad I quit deer hunting so I don't have to get involved in this tit for tat crap lol. that makes it tit for tit for me
your missing the point but you seem to jump to conclusion and put words in people mouths all the time, this isn't about not liking NR or hunting in other states it's about if ND residents should get the first week or two to hunt without NR.I say if you dont like non resident hunters. Then there are always places like Montana, Colorado, and Idaho.
Wait. That would make YOU the non resident. And trying your best to harvest an animal that may not be as prevalent in you own state. I say let them be. Public land isn't just for ND it's for the "PUBLIC"!
