North Dakota Tough. Hip replaced on December 3rd. Blew out my 16FT x 100FT driveway this morning. Brother yelled at me, asked me if I was nuts. Told him my walker is not self propelled, my snow blower is, just used low gear and took my time. Wife helped by knocking down the tall drifts. Feal great so far, no worse than PT and it didn't cost me 300$ per hour.

Well, Storm Stalkers was damn close on their estimates throughout the state. I was in the 6-10 inch range and we settled out around 7-8. Glad we didn't get the 45-50 mph wind like you eastern hosers got though. Oofda.

After an arctic rescue expedition (or “arscudition”), I’ve recovered Weather Bucket from his snowy tomb. Weather Bucket now indicates it’s sunny and cold outside. He also indicates the packers will not win the Super Bowl this year.

Weather bucket should have a piece of pvc pipe standing straight up from the bottom with 1" graduations clearly marked, and maybe a couple inches of concrete in the bottom so he (it) could withstand the wind. WB also could then double as a door stop in the summer.

​This has been an interesting read especially since I have been confined. When growing up back in the late 50's early 60's things were so much simpler. Conversations went like this. "Starting to snow." "Yep." Later. "Windy out now". "Yep".
After a day or so. "Looks like we got about 7 inches or so". "Yep". "Probably be a little colder now". "Yep".

Way more fun now!

I was out blowing snow 2 weeks after my last hip replacement. Just don't mention it to your doctor.

My yard is 6ft drifts or bare grass and drifts are hard as rocks. How do they measure snow fall in a blizzard?
