As I read the original post, it appears as though the day of fishing happened yesterday. He has yet to report, so I am guessing the bite was slow, or he is too high...haha

there was not a soul at the ramp so nobody on it this morning. did talk with a gentlemen in town that said it was decent this spring hasn't heard much on it as of late.

I think everyone is fishing the west end of sak taking hero shots with big fish....haha it still kills me my wifes family has cabins up there and I have yet to go....

so the wind generally F'd things up as you may have guessed. Thanks for all your suggestions... the cold/wind generally limited fishing opportunities for a full boat of newbs so we mostly did other things like pick Juneberries.

Tuesday night we hit Coal Lake. It's pea soup - we caught one puny eye and left to eat.

Wed morning everyone slept in so I got up and went to the river. Caught a limit of eyes (15-20") in the back of spillway pond pitching plastics. The key seemed to be pitching out in front of spawning carp. Maybe they were everywhere but I had confidence there as it has worked for me in the past at other lakes.

The BB crowd probably shook their heads in bewilderment as to what the clown with the white pole thingy on his boat was doing back there. Around noon the others joined me back at the ramp and we caught a couple decent trout pulling cranks.
