At least in Burleigh county, it requires a separate drain fieldIf you have plumbing going in for a floor drain I would rough in a toilet at a minimum.

If you decide to go with sprayfoam insulation drop me a message. We ordered our spray rig last week so it should be here mid April and ready to spray whenever we get acceptable temperatures. I'd love to give you a quote!Update. Going with 38’ x 48’ pole barn. 16’ sidewalls. 16x14 door

It’s not the drain or hiding the plumbing that’s the issueKeeping debris piles over drains to hide them during inspection is the oldest trick in the book
Without plumbing there is no need for a drain fieldIt’s not the drain or hiding the plumbing that’s the issue
It’s the drain field and space for a tank etc
Having it builtBuilding yourself or contracted? Whos doing it and how much? Update with pics if you get time during the process. I need a shop also, people say they are easy to throw up but seems like a big project to tackle alone.

That is a nice setup! My sq ft is limited in part by a small garage that I want to keep but counts against the total detached sw ftI built a 40x60 shop a couple of years ago. We added a bathroom. But I just did a 1,000-gallon holding tank that I will have pumped out when I pump my regular septic tank. We had the same issue as you... that we didn't have enough room for a separate drain field for the shop, so this was the easy answer. If you aren't washing vehicles in your shop, it will take a couple of years to fill it up.
Also, my shop is a 40x60 with 16ft sidewalls with a 16 ft x 40 ft loft. We did 4 ft frost walls/footings. A 40x26 ft concrete apron. Completely finished inside, it cost right around $225,000 in 2023-24.
