Electric fillet knife took a dump this weekend. Looking for suggestions on some of the cordless knives. Thanks!

Been nothing but impressed with my Rapala Lithium Ion; had it for two years and works as good as the day I bought it.

Used my father-in-laws Rapala this summer, can't remember if it is the ion version, and it worked fine for the 5 fish we had. My buddy just picked up a ion Rapala at Fleet Farm for $70 this weekend.
When my corded Rapala finally dies I will be buying an American Angler after using one a couple times.

I have the same knife, but with a brown handle. Great knife, but honestly, when I went to electric, I never looked back. I wore out a Rapala Cordless one, but it was with the Ni-Cd batteries. Li-Ion in cordless tools is splendid. I assume the Li-Ion knife would be too. For now, I have a corded Rapala, which is sufficient. Got a dang long cord though. good and bad I guess.

Don't get to use them as much as I want so they (Rapala cordless -Ion) last a long time.

i got a rapala lithium ion for christmas... I really don't clean any faster with it than a regular knife, I wanted the american angler corded one but the wife didn't know that, from what I heard the corded was better and american angler was best

Rusty I agree with you. I have the rapala cordless and also a berkley cordless but my go to knife is the corded american angler. I use them a lot and they last longer than any other than I have used. Even the new rapala batteries don't last all that long for me---after about a year they seem to die. I had the battery doctor rebuild some for me and they see to last longer. Ther berkley cordless is ok but the rapala is better for me as far as the cordless goes. The corded definetely go faster with blade movement and more consistent.

Good luck with what you decide! If the batteries suddenly take a dump, how much are replacements? Rapala turned me off cordless after the batteries crapped out after 2 or 3 years and consumers couldn’t buy replacement batteries. Most places I fish and camp have power, so I like the guaranteed power. I can buy 2-3 corded to 1 cordless.

Interesting discussion. It was a corded American Angler that I had been using. It was at least 5 year old and had served me well. Agree that most of the cleaning stations around have electricity. May be looking for another American Angler.
Thanks!!

American angler also has a twelve volt knife and I have one of those also and like it. The only down side I see to american angler is they have went up in price considerably. I still like them and would still go with them tho.

What do you mean slow learner? I learned it worked flawlessly the first time I used it.

I'm with KDM. I have an electric filet knife and it's fine, yet I almost always use my go to standard knife. It works just fine
