I'm going to be in Alexandria area for three days end of this month, any tips on what and where? Some good Crappie fishing would be a bonus

If you were around the Fergus Falls area I could put you on some excellent crappie fishing with some bonus walleye action.

Gotta admit, i'm a little disappointed. I don't know if you can call yourself a good fisherman if the only place you can catch walleyes are devils, sak or oahe.

When there are so many other species that a guy can't touch in ND, why go for eyes when a guy can roll around in 'em like a drug dealer in a bed of hundos on regular basis?

You folks coming in from nodak make sure you pull your drain plug to and from, drain your live well and minnow bucket before you leave the landing, pull all loose weeds off trailer,so dang many regs these days

Near Alex you'll find some great fishing, lake Le Homme Dieu is a great bass lake, smaller lakes like mary and reno have good walleye and panfish populations, infact you'll catch fish all around the town of alex.

if you do end up catching some fish, make sure to keep 5 limits like they do when they come to ND.. keep 10 limits if god forbid you ever go the shithole called wisconsin. I wonder if the fish are assholes like all the people from wisconsin?

As if flatlanders don't do the same exact thing when they go to MN or WI.

I cant think of a time ever, that I would go to WI to go fishing. When I was a fagroan I would go to MN quit a bit as grandpa owned a cabin over there. I never, nor as far as I know any of my family ever kept any over the limit. Being honest and following the rules must just be a thing for my clan, as breaking rules makes me feel dirty, like an effn sconi.

Could you provide some news links to any North Dakotan who has been charged with being over the limit in MN or WI? Not saying it has never happened, but overwhelmingly I would say that it happens way more over here than the other way around.

I agree 100%. Follow the rules and you never have to worry about anything, so much more relaxing I would think. Plus being a slob hunter or fishermen just brings you bad karma.

If'n you catch 10 times your limit in sconi, wouldn't you be a resident as that would take a lifetime?

In a vain attempt to derail another glorious thread, If one of those zebra mussels hides out on a boat, say way up in the corner of some dark cubby hole. Is there an amount of time the thing has before it gets back into water before it dies? Will it survive a ND winter in a pole barn? Is it dead in 6 hours? My google is broke from stirring up shit today..

People from ND travel to Wisconsin to fish? That claim sounds suspect at best

- - - Updated - - -

Greenbay area would be fun in the spring i suppose, but then you'd have to deal with them Union loving cheeseheads playing bumper boats

Fished out of Sturgeon Bay, Wi on Lake Michigan waters a number of times. Been a while now though. Very good waters for King Salmon and Chinooks late July.

I'll be heading to the WI side of Lake Michigan later this summer for some salmon action. It's been a few years since i was last out there, but there's just something about that lake that i just can't seem to find anywhere else.

Its been a number of years since we fished out of Sturgeon Bay, but at the time glow in the dark Howie fly's were the ticket. Pearl or Aqua that year anyway. If you are anywhere near Algoma, stop in that hardware/ bait shop. If it looks anything like it did a few years back it is like lined wall to wall with stuff..almost hoarder like. haha. They did have guide working out of there and they will let you know what the current "go to" tackle is...which was spot on and worked I might add. Of course fish always bite on stuff that isn't currently in tackle boxes..haha Good Luck!
