Finding dead ones this week laying in the creeks while harvesting. A person can't catch a break, I don't remember it being like this when I was a kid. Now it's every 2 or 3 years, pisses a person off. And we are WEEKS away from a hard frost, it's going to be brutal!

I literally had this conversation with a buddy yesterday. Said with the rampant drought again, I was just waiting for the first EHD news.

I'm going to say it because it needs to be said: We need more habitat and we need wetlands. Things aren't getting better if we do nothing. They certainly appear to be getting worse, though.

Yep, I would be perfectly OK with a hard freeze any day now. Not that it looks like it's going to happen, but that's really the only reasonable killer of the midges.
