Iowa Halloween sunrise years back. Windy as hell that morning in my tree stand. Thought I heard a grunt, looked directly below me and this guy is shaping the ground. Then he marches stiff legged to my decoy ears pinned back. I stopped him with my own grunt right there in the back corner of this field along the river. Massive bodied old buck, one base was over 8 inches. His rack was messed up n g2 snapped. While skinning and butchering him there I found 2 different small caliber slugs in him. Cut him up, got the meat on ice and head home in my grand prix with his rack riding shot gun in my front seat ha ha ha!
