Some stories just give you the warm fuzzies. Let's build a repository for things that turn your day around.

This dude was an accomplished prize fighter in Srilanka. Came to the states and took a job as a convenience store clerk. some stupid asses decided to rob the store. When ying meets yang:

That's a whole haybale of awesome!

Weeellll with that segue in a thread with this title I thought I would throw this out there. Folks may not have heard a great deal about what has happened with the wild fires across the southern plains. Literally thousands of cattle have been burned and perished or had to be shot by the ranchers that spent their lives raising them. Some families have lost everything and three people lost their lives trying to save their livestock.

There has been an outpouring of help (haybales, fencing supplies, cattle cash) from various sources across the nation and the NDFB is putting together what is call the Dakota Cattle Drive 2017 to generate cash to send as that is the easiest to disperse how it is needed. Ranching families like mine across the state are donating a heifer to be auctioned off at local sale barns with the proceeds going to help these impacted families, and an account is being set up for those wishing to donate.

The stories and pics from here hit home but the one that impacted me most was the story a wife told of her husband and son that left to go shoot a couple cows they had found burned beyond saving, a short while later they came back as they had ran out of shells after finding more and more cattle and she described how her husband and son dealt with having to come back and get more shells as most all of their cattle had to be destroyed.

Anyways NDFB is putting together a means to help out a bit and if anyone is interested it would be great. just pm me and I can get the details when they come out. Thanks.

Agreed, I will expand:

Shallow ice walleyes that hit so hard you never get a chance to mark them.
When a boat works perfect and there is nothing to tinker with.
Walking in the badlands
The days my wife tells me to "go do something outside" and the grumpy wrinkle between her eyes never reveals itself.
Peeing outside on your property.
A Yeti packed to the gills with ice and cold ones.
and being able to rip one knowing there is almost zero chance of a shart.

When your dog gets on point and flushes a hard holding rooster and you drop it like a bad habit.

Because I watched that video of the gas station ass whooping, YouTube has now recommended similar videos for me. This one might be even better. Couple large and drunk hotheads decide to fight a mild mannered bouncer at an Irish pub. WOW.

When I was really little, I shot a Starling with a bb-gun. Not knowing what I had shot, I brought it to my dad. He got out the North American Bird book and began to discuss what I had shot. I couldn't read and he knew it was a starling, but he made up an elaborate tale about the "rare and exotic European Starling" and how they were "almost extinct". He embellished this tale until I was almost in tears, and then came clean about how many that there are and that they are more than fair came for the bb-gun. We still like to laugh about it when we peg one at the bird feeder too.

Eurasian doves and European starlings are considered an invasive species and can be shot anytime in SD .
