I have purchased my first ice house. I have been ice fishing for years but always relied on a buddy or just fished outside. I got an older Fist Trap Pro one man. Now I am looking into ways to customize it. There are all sorts of youtube videos out there but I am wondering if anyone has a unique or cool modification that I or others may not have thought of. Any must haves? I know I will be stringing some LED Lights. I did search for a previous thread on this but could not find it. Thanks for the advice in advance.

I have a battery holder for an extra vexilar battery that I wired up lights and a fan to. I made a little switch box so everything is on switches. I also added a usb and 12v charger to the switch box for charging phones.

^^^but most importantly is the spot for the beer!

Setting up a spot or rod holders for a couple spare rods that are pre rigged and ready to go.

I don't want to steal your thread but I assume a vexilar cannot be wired straight to a 12V battery, What kind of doohickey would go in between?

What about LED strips? Can I hook them to a vexilar battery or does there need to be resistors in there?

Bought a 15 foot spool of weatherproof led lights on ebay for $12 shipped and cut it to the length I wanted to run along one of my top poles in my portable. Spliced on a 2 way trailer connector on the end of my lights, on my vexilar, battery box I made, and my charger for my vexilar. I was concerned about the quality of the lights they work great so I'd recommend the ebay lights instead of forking over $40 for the led lights you get at the store. The trailer connectors are the way to go in my opinion, I can power my lights with either my vexilar or my battery box, and charging is just as simple.

Maybe guywhofishes will chime in as he is the king of fishhouses. I think his fish house heater runs on plutonium which means you never run out of propane.

Is that skateboard equipped with trap strap hooks so you can strap a dog to the board?

Look into shack mat or any other kind of flooring. Keeps things dry and your house that much warmer.

Also: Bluetooth speaker, any kind of storage box, beer and beer holders
