Much below temps the next two weeks. Hopefully it will mellow out a bit before Memorial Day. Early June works for annual plants. Flowers and vegetables. So much for a nice spring.

Heavy yes but you will not have to do that again. They last forever.

Well, just planted 3 tomato plants, 3 green pepper plants, 6 jalapeño plants, 4 hills of cucumber plants and 3 leaf lettuce plants. Cut the seed potatoes up to let them sit until Sunday and then they will be planted. Going to fertilize the shit out of the potatoes this year to beat Lycan's record. ::boxing::

Got my first dinner out of the garden today. Baby carrots, peas and little onions about the size of golf ball. Steamed and then butter coated with a garlic scampi seasoning. I love my garden. Tomatoes are flowering and so are potatoes .Peppers are close to flowering and so are my first planting of green beans. Vines are starting to run. Corn is knee high. Life is good.

Picked up a new tiller the other day, 1997 horse, nice upgrade from my current pony version. Needed new tines but other than that seems to be in good shape.

Planted Memorial weekend. Tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeño peppers and cucumbers are all starting to get buds\bloom. Leaf lettuce is doing great.:;:rockit Planted 40 hills of potatoes and only 18 hills came up. They vary in size from 10" to 1/2" high. Bought certified seed potatoes from Lowe's this year and they suck! ;:;banghead

I want to know more

started them inside late March. Planted them in the garden early May. They struggled right away. I think the ground was too cold.
the leaves are huge, so I prune the bottom ones as soon as they start to wilt. I’ll try to include a photo when I get a chance!

My garden is going good so far. The cucumbers and tomato's are a bit behind but other then that things are rolling. I planted a garden cover crop prior to going on vacation for 2 weeks and when I got home it had done its job. Not many if any weeds up and enough spinach to feed an army. I have already taken out over 20 grocery sacks packed full of spinach and I have a good 10 or more left to get out of there plus the spinach was huge and tasty. I have radishes that look like beets, but they are still good and not hot either. I think its going to be a really good year.

Despite the cool June both vegetable and flower gardens are doing quite well. The recent rains will help along with some heat. My garlic that I planted on December 21st is doing quite well!
