The above is just the tip of the iceberg . The audit revealed millions that are basically going to be uncollectable as they were super high risk with little or no collateral . Plus now there are facets of the audit they are trying to keep under wraps

Somewhat off topic, but I have become an advocate of defunding the entire ND Commerce department. It has become nothing short of a money laundering scheme. Have had many conversations with local legislators regarding some of the 'grants' that the commerce department has given out (millions of $$). The legislators do not defend the corp welfare, but deflect in stating they have little control or oversight once the funding takes place. Then the legislature increases funding during the following legislative session.

Inflation over the time Biden was president was 20/% give or take a percentage point probably could as it’s went up more. So let’s math his out.

Gas 3.88x 20%=0.776 +3.88= 4.65

Diesel 4.59x 20%=0.918 + 4.58=5.51

So gas is about where inflation is putting it but diesel is up but the stupid govt regulations and regulations on diesel add to those costs.

I don’t care who’s in office these prices suck any which way any one wants to spin it. I mother fucked Biden as much as anyone.

Our diesel bills could pay a couple people’s wages for a year what we are paying a couple weeks.

Before I took a few minutes to think about things as a whole rather than just the $$$ for a barrel of oil, I used to be firmly in the camp of prices being kept artificially high at times. Price/barrel is an easy number to find with pretty detailed history at your fingertips. The cost to get that barrel of oil out of the ground is baked into the price/barrel, why doesn't the cost of gas or fuel directly correlate?

What I hadn't thought about was the costs once that barrel is out of the ground. That barrel of oil is going to be shipped 2x. Once to be refined, then back onto a truck or into a pipeline as refined product. Increased wages once the barrel is out of the ground, increased ground and rail shipping costs for certain. I have no frame of reference for how pipeline shipping rates have changed or stayed static but obviously there's an associated cost there as well. I don't like the current high pump prices either. That said, I'm not going to shake my fist at the passing clouds because the cost of a barrel today doesn't = correlated historical gas/fuel/refined product prices.

Bottom line is inflation on Groceries and Housing is worse vs Gas/ Diesel prices. Yet you can walk in the Aldi in europe and they have managed to keep prices down vs fargone and the rest of the us. Everybody bends over and pays. The worst is when you hear that old saying "the cost of living in fargone is cheaper then everywhere". Where is everwhere.

Dont get me started on a 30 rack of busch light. What is supporting this??.

Old money and prospecting money keep blowing up the bubble.

Tanker transport costs are up something like 800%. Maybe that shouldn’t affect us here, but given the fact that it’s a global market we feel it here. Lots that go into the overall price.

Disagree, these radical islamic muslims started this in 1979 when they took over persia slaughtering 100's of 1000's Persian's took over American embassy and held American hostages for 444 days continued they're threats "death to America, murdered 1000's of Americans since then boasted 90 kilos of 60% enriched uranium only weeks away from enriching to 90% (weapons grade) enough for 11nukes non- negotiationable during April peace talks in Switzerland when terrorist threaten we had better listen, midnight hammer took out they're enriching capabilities but not the uranium or centrifuges then carried on following the hit. Like it or not long term security for our country and our children and grandchildren it was time. Knowing these cave dwellers had nuclear capability it wouldn't be a matter of if they would hit America rather "when" these evil radicals have proven they could careless about human life.
"Radical Islamic Muslims started this in 79" shows just how little you know about the US/Iran relationship over the last century. Look into what the CIA was up to in the early 1950's. What was the Iranian relationship in WW2? That might surprise you.

Stop drinking the Orange Kool aid.

Bottineau EDC director faces felony theft charge, $500,000+ missing from EDC & City of Kramer

The director of the Bottineau Economic Development Corporation is facing a Class A felony theft charge after investigators said an audit uncovered more than half a million dollars in questionable spending.

Whitney Gonitzke is charged with theft of property.

According to court records, the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after it received separate reports of missing funds from the Bottineau Economic Development Corporation and the City of Kramer.

An audit of the EDC’s accounts identified more than $547,000 in suspected unauthorized credit-card purchases and checks, according to court records.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at Gonitzke’s home. Prosecutors said deputies found EDC financial documents and an organization credit card there.

Court documents also allege Gonitzke told investigators that she wrote herself more than $112,000 in checks from the EDC. The documents also state she allegedly used EDC credit cards for purchases investigators identified during the case.

Prosecutors also accuse Gonitzke of receiving payments from the City of Kramer monthly rather than twice a year. Investigators said they identified more than $50,000 in city funds that could not be accounted for.

Gonitzke has been released on bond and has retained an attorney. A future court date had not been scheduled as of Wednesday.

A Class A felony in North Dakota carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

The Bottineau Economic Development Corporation is a nonprofit that provides economic-development assistance and business financing. According to the organization’s tax form, its available funding can include business loan pools, loan repayments, investment income, contributions, grants, and potentially public economic-development support.
