Dug the last of my potatoes yesterday and paid dearly for it. Wasn't bad when the wind was blowing but when it stopped, Good Lord. Them little pin heads must be all teeth and poison for the way my arms and back of my neck look. Got some places where you can cover 3 bites with a Quarter and ITCH. Cortisone 10 don't touch them this morning. LB

I am guessing they’re minute pirate bugs like we’ve seen lately

little predators about a mm long - like a long black pepper spec

awful - but they’re not purposely hunting people so traditional bug deterrents don’t do ####

Essential oils like lemon, eucalyptus, mint and camphor are known for repelling no see ums. You can make your own essential oil spray by mixing several drops in a spray bottle with water, or you can purchase a natural insect repellent spray made with a mix of essential oils.
