When the fish are really in the biting mood, I like to put on a rusty hook with a dried up minnow head from last season to show those fish my brilliance in fooling them. When the fish are not in the biting mood, I use pretty much my entire arsenal of jigs and lures that I just couldn't walk by in the tackle shop, with the fish below thinking, " If that guy above the ice thinks we are going to get fooled today with any of the tackle he is sending our way, he is thinking wrong!" Dang sport of fishing...think you are an expert one day and a total loser on another.

Depends...watch how fish reacts to your pattern and pressure, time of day, walleyes early morning and late evening, perch during high noon days, when fish are netural down size spoon to small swedish pimples can work magic, and after 20 years of trying new this and that my best stand bye lure is....try using something the fish haven't seen for walleyes. Can't resist walleye lure and panfish,I'll hang a 6" dropper and a small demon with larva to intice perch coming in for a looksey in between walleye bites. The "bird" is the word.
