If your gun is a 3-1/2, those shells are quite necessary. LOL!! On certain days, my hunting pards with 3.5's definitely drop more of those longer range birds than I do with my 3's. More BB's equates to more strikes. You can't argue with the numbers if all things are equal.

I should also state that when real late season comes around (late November -- end of season I bring out my 10 gauge and shoot BB, BBB, T, or F shots. Have quite a few old 10 gauge boxes since I don't shoot it much lol.

Early season I have used 3" 1,2, BB 3 1/2" same sizes and BBB. My favorite all around loads became hevishot 2 and 4 when the came out, 3" early season and 3.5" late season. In the end, your experience wingshooting and ability to judge distance and follow through might be more important than shot size.
