I bought that cheap-ass Ruger American on a whim at an auction. It shoots way better than it should, rivaling some of my custom barrels.

Thank you. The taxidermy bill for the life sized mount is going to hurt, but it's going to be well worth it. The excitement and joy on his face will forever be remembered. I told him he got a super rare deer for his first ever deer so he may as well shoot the state record in a few years when he gets his first buck tag.
Pretty deer. I would not have cut the ear for the tag, it would have went on a hind leg..

I bought my wife the exact same used gun for $400 last year, and agree with your accuracy assessment, event shooting factory ammo. The only thing I did was add an aftermarket trigger spring.

Bought that exact gun for one for my kids a few years ago and topped it with a vortex diamondback tactical style scope. With bipod, gun scope, sling, extra may pull mag, and everything, I think I only had $800 into the whole setup and it shoots unbelievably well with 143 eldx's! best cheap guy I ever bought!

Can confirm Ruger American rifles are quite accurate for any price range. The Marsupial chest rig is also excellent but costs half as much as the rifle. Glad he’s shooting with a muffler. I won’t let my kids shoot without one. They don’t need dad’s tinnitus.

Great buck!

8:45am & it's "The Breakfast Club" time! Jiffy knows. Great movie.
Actually look at the picture of his boot beside his deer.

Now look at the picture.

They appear to have the same cobbler.

This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the picture. Don’t ask me why.
