More often than not they try to blame the government (or someone else) for their lack of preparedness, followed by putting their hand out for government money.While living in Sitka Alaska a long while back, we would have Tsunami drills. Alarm would go off and everyone would go to higher ground. I've never seen a tsunami happen, but know of people that have. It is like our tornado warnings. A lot of people do not train or prepare for it, and blow it off. Until it actually happens and people die, then say how tragic, just like here with tornados.
Agreed however Japan didn't get whacked this time.Perhaps since the quake was on the other side of the pacific, energy of the quake weakened before it did any sort of damage.
