I'm headed out in the morning to go after some smallmouth on Ashtabula. Likely launching out of Sundstrum's to start. Any advice on points of interest that I should target? I'll be looking for rocky shorelines, near bridges, shallow reefs....wondering if anyone has thoughts on if north end is better, south, other structure to target?

Any advice welcomed.

On a normal year with lower flows my answer would be skip the lake and find a way to float the river. This year, not so much. Goodluck

Rocks and points near the channel. I prefer the north part of the lake from the crossing north but just because I'm more familiar with it. There's some hog smallies in there.
