A few tidbits of info if anyone would like get evolved;
www.nd.gov/ndda/news/meeting-notice-industrial-hemp

It's 25 dollars an acre to grow hemp
Those who have would like more information should go to the meeting on the 15th of December.
Those that do should bring back the information as to what it means for north Dakota farmers as well as outdoorsman.

Thanks lunk , Do you have a link to the info on the $25 an acre to grow it ? I'd love to see some sort of co-op for those that want to plant a small wildlife experimental patch .

seed co-op is what I meant.

Click on the link there is a pdf file to download and send in it will cost about 175 to plant one acre of hemp on your property. But once you are established you will be grandfathered in if the feds ever try to stop others from growing hemp. Once you have that stamp it can not be taken away. Since the feds are the ones who approved of hemp being grown " farm bill"

I sent an email to clarify a question but I don't expect a quick response, I think my email will have Doug scratching his head for a while. My opinion is the same, Just legalize it and get it over with.

To avoid being in violation of Federal criminal law, a North Dakota industrial hemp pilot producer must be licensed in the state of ND and: (1) be part of an agricultural or academic research program conducted by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture or by an institution of higher education; and/or (2) obtain annually a registration issued by the DEA.

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) created the Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program to research the growth, cultivation, and marketing of industrial hemp in North Dakota. The purpose of the pilot program is to increase the understanding of how industrial hemp fits into the current agricultural landscape, and investigate how it may contribute to the economy of North Dakota.

The amount it will cost to participate will depend on a number of factors, including type of application, number of fields, research goals and objectives, and THC testing rates.

  • Grower application fee: $450
  • Processor/marketer application fee: $450
  • Combination (grower and processor/marketer) application fee: $800
  • License fees are $300 plus $200 per additional field in production
  • THC testing fees range from $200 to $2,000, depending on number of samples processed together

Is anyone familiar with Sunn hemp ? It looks like a beneficial cover crop but I've never heard of anyone planting it. The old timers probably confused it with that dang maryjowana .

I still hope for a reply to what I thought was a reasonable question but I understand our AG. commissioner probably has his hands tied on a federal level and you know what that is all about - Just dumb but it is what it is.

I'd like to plant a small patch this growing season and blend in a few other plants that deer like and see what it does.
It was in the QDMA link lunker posted.
