2, hds7 bow, hds 9 at console. It's one too many, never leave the captain seat anyway with ipilot

Anyone put a sonar unit at the back of the boat (for console boats, of course)? I've debated putting a mirroring unit back there for the fishermen in the back of the boat. Don't see anyone with a unit back there, so i am guessing I am crazy on this one.

3, HDS 7 and 5 on dash, 7 for graph ando 5 for GPS. Elite 7 on bow which is rarely used.

I have 2. A Helix 9DI on the dash that utilizes a ducer on the back of the boat, It is linked to the troller for the link functionality. late last year I installed a lowrance hds 5 up in the front of the boat. I got a hell of a deal on it and need it for getting nmea 2k data off my big motor so I know when to do my oil changes. I have it hooked up to the sonar in the trolling motor. I very rarely sit up front in the boat though so it is rarely used for anything other than yamahammer engine data display.

I always make sure to have about 10 on board. They have a tendency to get lost.

I'm weird so just the one HDS 5 in the back and I have a Garmin 62 in a RAM mount next to it for GPS. I know I'm not using the HDS to its full potential but I already had the other stuff.

I miss the "Ba-Deep!" sound when you had those 90s electronics in auto-fish-detect mode. Can a guy still do that on modern HDS stuff? Might be handy when trolling clean bottoms - to alert a guy to marks after he falls asleep due to boredom.

My 1995 Humminbird LCR4ID showed the fish in red. bigger fish were in dark red. ba-DEEP! WHAT WAS THAT?! That was a sweet piece of equipment.

Sawyer,
Haha, right? 2 ducers out back. One up front is in the terrova.

Still contemplating upgrading a unit for sidescan. Anyone LOVE their sidescan?

This is why I'm mounting two more. I like to run side scan on full screen to follow weed lines and mark rocks or etc so I can swing over them on the next pass. On the other graph I run sonar and mapping. I honestly use DI very little.

3 preferred. One on the bow for 2d sonar and gps mapping. One on the helm for down and side imaging and the other for 2d sonar and gps mapping.

3... 1 onix 8NT (plain jane) up front networked to my onix 10ci combo at the console and I have a lowrance elite 5 because it came with the boat at the console as well and I run the depth on that at max size so I can see it from anywhere plus it is good for high speed depth (side imaging ducers are not good for high speed)... on the does anyone love their side imaging... yes I do it is really nice to know "hey I am 20 -30 feet off the mark" it makes it a lot easier to find the fish and you spend less time in search mode... pulling cranks you can adjust if you mark a fish you can turn and by the time you drag the cranks over the mark you are on top of the fish with them... i have debated hooking the front unit up to my trolling motor ducer but i have also debated installing the ducer that came with that unit for high speed... either way i need a Y cable, extention cable, or an adapter to do it

Yep, I put one on the back deck in between the jump seats. It is networked so it will use the same transducer as the console units. So now I have 4 in the boat.

I bought the thru hull ducer and Y cable last year. Allows me to tuck my si ducer up and out of reach of a log or anything else. High speed ducer does well with getting the depth but picture isn't the greatest. Pretty simple install as well. Well worth the $60
