I'd say for sure that's a fish bite. Musky or northern, no way to know for sure. The big long gashes are from when she yanked her foot out of its mouth - no doubt.

Those fish have teeth to rival those of a dog, and probably sharper.

Devils Lake, my cousin holding a large pike with one hand behind the gills, and holding the lower jaw open with pliers. Jaykay reaches all the way in, with pliers, to release a deep crankbait. Big fish. Cousin's pliers slip off, pikefish snaps his mouth shut, Jaykay screams like a girlscout and yanks his hand out. For the first hour, Bud Light came out of the cuts. The rest of the day, it was a mix of blood and Bacardi.

Next time I go muskie fishing I'm definitely using the Berkley Gulp! Alive! Foot in either chartreuse, grape or flesh color.

WTF are they in the photo? Are there more photos of this girls foot out there somewhere?

If she was laying on her stomach with her foot in the water, and you look at the pic of the musky teeth that was posted earlier, it would be safe to assume the top of her foot was in contact with the large teeth on the bottom of the fish's jaw. Im sure the rest were on the bottom of her foot, from the top of its mouth...

If you read the article it says most were on the top of her foot and ankle. Even if what you say is true I'd expect more the 2 gashes unless that muskie lost a few bottom teeth!

I'm starting to wonder if we even have the right photo's???

This makes no sense looking at that picture in the article:
Closer examination revealed she had been cut in 25 places, mostly on her upper ankle and on top of her foot, Kesselhon said.
"There were nine deep lacerations that required stitches," Kesselhon said.

I did see one more pic where she just had three smaller gashes up on her ankle similar to the two in her foot. Still not a bunch of smaller cuts and scrapes i would assume from a muskie attack. Either way it doesn't really matter, she was attacked by one or the other, it just seems that otter attacks are much more frequent.

I was talking to someone recently about why you dont hear of Musky and northern attacks more often. They attack anything so its only a matter of time.

no size requirements, limit 3, possession 9. That is what i would put on the MN proc.

End of the muskie mania bullshit --- that fish is just another fish imo. Lets start stocking Zander again.

Poison it and get rid of the toothy ones. We have our kids to think about. We can stock from Walmart for cheap. IMG_2475.jpg
