Never even held one in my hand, but I'm considering on purchasing one for this year, I'm looking for others that have experience with them good and bad.

I have a 13 fishing free fall ghost that I really like and plan to buy a few more this year. Also bought one of the pflueger reels last year and was not impressed at all with it. Have tried a few others over the years but keep going back to the 13 fishing

What is the benefit? Serious question.

I have switched almost my entire summer fishing poles to bait casters, but all winter stuff is spinning.

This article also believes the 13 fishing is the go to for inline reels, does the proce matter as far as the 13 inline goes or is the old saying hold true you want quality you pay for it. With black friday deals happening now, I am thinking of getting one. Also I use my left hand for all my spinning reels, would I expect to say with a left hand?

Only looked at them once. Would they be more prone to freezing up, inside house use only?

I started with 13 free fall ghost and pickle which are ok. I bought 3 Piscifun a couple years ago and think they are much better. They are smoother, better drag and more holding power i think, better adjustment for drop speed, I like the wider spool, and the spool is on my crank side so hand doesn't contact it or I can monitor the spool if fighting a fish and need to make a drag adjustment. That 5+lbs bass i got last winter came on that reel with 3lb test line and I was able to play it better than my 13's which I have lost nice bass on before. They are a little heavier but so far the one I ran last year on a Elliot 44" UL was a very good combo for me. The trigger is really nice for making adjustments but if it is cold enough and you are running a pretty light jig you still might have to hand strip some line which doesn't bother me.

No line twist? better drag? I own both, spinners are my go to.
Line twist still happens on gills because they like to go in circles coming up or certain jigs have a tendency to work in a circle, i still put a tiny Spro swivel on all my rods. The 13 fishing drag is not very good in my opinion, inside a shack and outside I have had them stick then surge if not set just right. Now after the Piscifun reels it really makes me less of a fan of the 13 reels

I see the gear ratio on the 13 is 2.5 to 1. I don’t think I would like that when I’m used to 5:1 or more.

I'm a fan of m 13 fishing inline reel. Been using it for about 4 years now and have caught everything jumbo panfish to 21" walleye on it. Line twist and drop speed are the big advantages. I'm not a super big fan of the drag on an UL rod, but I'm happy to read it's better than the Pfluegers.

Good info on Piscifun inline reels @luvcatchingbass. I run their spinning reels on my three pitching rods and absolutely love them. I will say this fall they didn't respond the best in near freezing temps while boat fishing... but once the sun came up and they got a little more drag run out of them they were back to top notch status.
