at 4:58 last night.
up untill last Sunday, the bucks were going berserk in my woods but that all came to a halt on monday.
i sat most mornings and evenings looking at a dead zone. we don't gun hunt so things were quite undisturbed.

yesterday, i got in the stand at just before 3 and decided to take the next buck that showed up as i want to get on to coyote hunting.
about 3:30, a forky came by but something told me good things to come if i waited.
at 4:55, a decent 10 came following a fawn i i was ready to take him when a twig snapped behind me followed by a grunt. i turned my head to see this one following a doe.
decision time:...take the 10 at 10-12 yards or try and turn 180 for the 8.
the 8 i think is a 4.5 and the 10 is a 3.5 so i decided to try for the 8.
got turned around and he followed the doe under me at about 8 yards. was a super chip shot but somehow i shot high. Denise and i followed blood with flashlights after dark but the bloodtrail was not great so we went back this morning.
it was a horrible trail and took a long time and about 400 yards but we found him right on the river edge tucked into a deep washed out grassy hole.
did not get him out till about 12:30. was a tough drag.
got him caped and ready for the taxidermy man. not a big rack but his cape/colors are awesome.

thanks fellas.
worm wiggler, the real big bears live another year but i think i posted pics in the bear thread of her consolation prize.
she's passed up quite a pile of bucks this year but now with cold weather coming, she will most likely zap the next buck that comes by.
