Lake Winnipeg Guides

I am looking at taking my Father up to Lake Winnipeg this ice fishing season at some point. Most likely during the week. It will be my first time ever going up there to ice fish so we are going to go for the fully guided route. I was told Black Water Cats are one of the guides up there. I know almost nothing about them. IF you have any recommendations I would appreciate it.

I have fished with blackwater cats a couple times. Donovan seems to find fish even on a tough bite, he talks with other guides out there too. He has a suburban with tracks to get around. I would suggest fishing a couple days with him. One day for numbers and one for big fish. Call him for dates and get hotel rooms soon, they book up but during the week should be easier. The canalta in selkirk is newer and nice, the selkirk inn is older but restaurant and bar across parking lot. Happy fishing
