I was out In the Tabacco Gardens Area today, 90% ice free 2 1/2 miles east of the bay. Wind was definitely moving the ice pack. There was a pickup and trailer at the ramp!!

Oahe at Yates is pretty much open after last nights wind. After this weekend (or today) I'm sure you take a boat pretty much anywhere on Oahe.

Buddy and I headed out to look for turkeys in a bit. Curious to see how things look this morning after the wind and sunshine yesterday

Open as far as I could see south of bridge and a couple miles north and west of the bridge. Launch from casino. Game on!

Drove through New Town yesterday. Open water in the bays and ice is off about 20-30 feet from the edges of main lake. I would say with 70 degrees and some wind much of the ice might be gone in the next few days. I'd be shocked if it lasted more than 3-4 days.

East end of Sak took a beating with the strong NE wind and the white tops on what open water there was. The ice flow is pushed into the south shore and is only several hundred yards wide at this point. All the north bays (Garrison, Detrobriand, Steinke, Centenial and West Totten) are ice free at this point. Looking west from Ft Stevenson, the sheet seemed much larger say douglas bay area and west. Whatever may be left, should be wiped out with the forecast higher winds and rain the end of the week. Although, if you can guarantee the wind wont switch on you, you can put in at both park ramps and fish anywhere you would like from Garrison east. My dad watched Steinke bay go ice free in about 1.5hrs yesterday. That wind was tearing it to shreds!

Drove down to Bismarck this evening...odd site crossing the lake with open water and boats out on Sak and nothing but ice on Audubon!

In college I worked at Gander with Back Water Eddy. He once told me that the ice off line moves north about 20 miles a day.
